Casting News:
Nog snel even een overzicht van de laatste casting ontwikkelingen:
 Susan Sarandon speelt in Cameron Crowe's romantische komedie Elizabethtown. De rest van de cast bestaat uit Kirsten Dunst en Orlando "Legolas" Bloom.
Adrien Brody (The Pianist) gaat waarschijnlijk naast Jack Black spelen in Peter Jackson's King Kong.
Anne Hathaway en Randy Quaid zijn toegevoegd aan de cast van Ang Lee's "gay cowboy love story" Brokeback Mountain. De hoofdrollen zijn voor Heath Ledger en Jake Gyllenhaal. (A gay cowboy love story...?)
Clint Eastwood regisseert, produceert en acteert in Million Dollar Baby. Hilary Swank en Morgan Freeman spelen waarschijnlijk ook mee.
Ja Rule rapt een end weg met Ethan Hawke in Assault on Precinct 13, een remake van John Carpenter's film.

geen fake pics dat enkele weken geleden op het web verscheen. De bolide ziet er fantastisch uit en ik denk dat we het
beter de Battank moeten noemen, klik op de pics voor een grote versie!

AVP and Ghost Rider update!:
Screenwriter Shane Salerno (Shaft, Armageddon) heeft een lang maar ontzettend interessant gesprek gevoerd met Screenwriting Ugo.com.
Hij sprak over zijn nieuwste projekten Alien vs Predator en Ghost Rider.
Salerno vertelde het volgende over het back to basics concept van AVP en hoe het was om te werken met regisseur Paul Anderson:
"When Alex Young at FOX pitched me this project I had two reservations. First, there is an onus to any film with a "vs" in its title. I think when people hear the title they conjure images in their head of a heavyweight prize fight between these two fearsome creatures. That's not what this movie is at all. Second, I wanted to go back to Alien and Aliens and the first Predator film. That means going back to basics in some cases. Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection showed too much and demystified the terror of these awesome creatures. Predator 2 didn't live up to Predator at all. Fortunately for me Alex, director Paul Anderson and producers John Davis and Wyck Godfrey, the real principles involved in making the film, were also deeply committed to getting back to the original values and excitement and terror of those earlier science fiction-action adventure films. We've all worked so hard, Paul certainly more than anyone, to honor the legacies of both franchises and we want to make a film that fans respect, respond to and bring back the goodwill of fans of both franchises. A new Internet trailer began running recently and the fans have really embraced it. Even Aint it Cool, who has a love-hate relationship with Paul Anderson, said the trailer looked great.
I worked on A vs. P for six intense months. I finished its development, wrote the shooting script, stayed on for revisions for cast, final budget and production notes and traveled to Prague to do on set work there. After that, I continued working on it back in Los Angeles when I returned. It was very exciting. I enjoyed working with Paul Anderson, who has a religious devotion to the first two Alien films and the first Predator film."
Salerno onthulde ook een aantal zaken over de Ghost Rider film dat op dit moment wordt voorbereid door Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil), Nic Gage gaat de hoofdrol spelen:
"Ghost Rider has had a long and tortured development history. If Ghost Rider is executed at its full potential, it could take special effects to another level as T2 did. Almost no film has had to use character based CGI on the level that Ghost Rider would require. It's thrilling to consider the sheer "look" of Ghost Rider. It could really be amazing and I am sure that it will be because the folks at Marvel (Avi, Kevin and Ari) are so meticulous in every detail in the making of their films that they will not settle until it's absolutely right. Avi Arad really doesn't get the credit he deserves. He produces these movies and is really the man behind so many of Marvel's films working so well. People forget how bad some early incarnations of Marvel movies were in say the Eighties before Avi took over. He's a master showman and also a terrific storyteller. Honestly, I think that he is a more valuable Marvel asset than Spiderman, and the people that have worked with him know this."

Jack Black in King Kong!!!:
Jack Black gaat één van de hoofdrollen vertolken in Peter Jackson's remake van King Kong. Hij zal de rol
van Carl Denham op zich nemen. Denham is een avonturier/filmmaker die bekendheid probeert te krijgen in New York
anno 1930. "I've been wanting to work with Jack Black ever since I saw him in High Fidelity," vertelt Peter Jackson,
"He's a smart and versatile actor blessed with an abundance of energy and charm and I'm absolutely thrilled that he is joining us on Kong."
De vrouwelijke hoofdrol wordt verzorgd door Naomi Watts (The Ring) en als we geluk hebben zien we ook nog een
paar Hobbits voorbij komen.

Pics, Pics, Pics!:
Mooie pics vandaag, we beginnen met een geweldige "banner" van de vampire flick Van Helsing. Klik op
The Wolfman voor meer. Tweede pic is een nieuwe van Spider-man 2, gevonden in de Engelse krant
The Sun. En het laatste plaatje is van National Treasure, een avonturenfilm met Nicolas
Cage in de hoofdrol. "The eighth descendant in a family of archaeologists (Nicolas Cage) goes in search of a
secret chest of treasures hidden by America's founding fathers who hid the map in the Declaration of Independence
and Constitution." (Ik had helaas geen tijd om het voor jullie te vertalen, excuses hiervoor). De rest van de cast
bestaat uit Sean Bean, Justin Bartha, Diane Kruger en de film is geregisseerd door Jon Turtletaub (The Kid,
Instinct).

Mulder talks X-Files 2:
David Duchovny sprak met Moviehole over een nieuwe X-files film!
"It's definitely happening", vertelt de acteur. "Chris has a great idea for the new movie and I expect we'll be able to begin shooting in the next year or so.
I think we're going to be introducing a new character in the film which will allow us to cast a major star, male or female, who will want to be part of an exciting supernatural thriller. I think the new movie will appeal to both our core fans and a broad audience. I'm very excited about it."

U.S. Box Office Mar 26-28:
Scooby-dooby-dooooooooo, het vervolg op de Scooby Doo film kwam op nummer 1 binnen met maar
liefst $30 miljoen!!! The Coen Bros komedie The Ladykillers met Tom Hanks in de hoofdrol,
deed het ook prima met een tweede plaats en $13 miljoen. De grootste zakker is Dawn of the Dead, vorige
week nog 1 en nu gedaald naar nummer 4. Here's the rest of the top ten:

AVP Pics 'n Stuff!:
Ik heb een uitnodiging gekregen om de site van Alien vs. Predator te bezoeken. De site was voor
een paar uurtjes alleen toegankelijk voor leden. Wat heb ik gezien? Veel! Trailers, pics, conceptual art, cast/crew info
en een synopsis:
"The discovery of an ancient pyramid buried in Antarctica sends a team of scientists and adventurers to the frozen continent. There, they make an even more terrifying discovery: two alien races engaged in the ultimate battle. No matter who wins, we lose!"
Mooie tagline! De film is geregisseerd door Paul W.S. Anderson (Event Horizon, Soldier). Ik heb speciaal voor

Casting news:
Een paar casting nieuwtjes, eigenlijk niets bijzonders maar het vult tenminste de pagina!:
Holly Hunter gaat spelen in The Big White, een komedie met in de hoofdrol Robin Williams. De cast bestaat verder uit Giovanni Ribisi en James Woods.
Luke Goss gaat de bad guy spelen tegenover Samuel L. Jackson en Eugene Levy in The Man.
