ARCHIVES WEEK 13-2003
Tomb Raider 2 trailer: Tomb Raider 2 trailer is on line at Yahoo Movies. Hope this one won't suck like the original, I think that director Jan de Bont could make a nice one out of it. Click on the pic to go the Yahoo site, the trailer is not in Quicktime, unfortunately... ![]() © paramount 2003 The Mule on location in Amsterdam: Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings) and Stephen Dorff (Blade) are set to make The Mule. The story is based on true events of two Hollywood stuntman who smuggled XTC between Amsterdam and Los Angeles during the actor's strike in the 90's. Dorff is producing and Geoffrey Wright ("Romper Stomper") directs. The production starts this june on location in London and Amsterdam, so I hope I can take a sneak peek at the set when they're in Holland... Source: hollywood reporter Charlie's Angels 2: Lightsout has done it again and posted some new shots of the Charlie's Angel sequel: Full Throttle. Click on the pic to see more naughty Angels! ![]() © columbia 2003 Batman vs. Blade: Variety reports that David Goyer will write the new Batman movie, directed by Chis "Memento" Nolan! The film is not related to Batman vs Superman or Batman: Year One, which are also in development. David Goyer is known for his writing and producing credits on the Blade movies. Goyer also finished his Blade III script, the last movie of the Franchise. Who will direct the horror flic is unknown but Goyer himself might take a shot at it. Source variety, superherohype and scifi.com Dumb and Dumberer: Lightsout has posted some pics from the Dumb and Dumber sequel: When Harry met Lloyd. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels aren't involved this time, they will be replaced by Erik Christian Olsen and Derek Richardson. The Man With The Whip: sci-fi had a nice chat with writer-director Frank Darabont who's writing the next Indiana Jones movie. He talked a bit about why Indy won't be fighting the Nazis this time: "Those pesky Nazis seem to have departed, which is a shame, because I like those pesky Nazis, because you can just squash them all over the place". I'm very curious who will join Indy's new adventure (better hurry cause I saw Harrison Ford at the Oscars last night, he's getting pretty old...) And the Oscar goes to... The Academy Award still took place despite of the war, you can find a complete list of the winners right here! ![]() US Box office weekend 21 Mar - 23 Mar: "Bringing Down The House" still ruled at the top for the third week, beating the Stephen King Thriller "Dreamcatcher". The comedy "View from the Top", starring Gwyneth Paltrow managed to enter the top 5. Winnie the Pooh spin off "Piglet's Big Movie" is probably better off when Pooh's playing the lead. "Boat Trip" with Cuba Gooding Jr. rounded out the top ten:
Punisher casting news: E! online reports that Thomas Jane, starring in the upcoming Dreamcatcher is pumping up to prep for The Punisher. Thomas didn't confirm it... but also didn't deny it. Kurt Russel was also mentioned to play this comic based character. The comic already made it to the big screen back in 1989 with Dolph Lundgren playing the lead. source: darkhorizons.com T3 Toy skeleton:
Superherohype has noticed that WB has registered the domain names, BatmanTheFrightening.com and BatmanTheFrightening.net. A review of the script has also appeared on line: "The fact that things are happening in his [Bruce Wayne's] head at the same time the story is actually taking place is done very well, and i really enjoyed the scenes when he is locked in Arkham and sees The Joker again.... it gave a good insight into Bruce's emotions as well when he thinks he has failed, and I love when he knows he is dying so he goes after The Scarecrow in more of a suicide mission. I liked the batsuit, and how it was almost a character in itself, and the Batmobile had a decent chase scene. I liked the quick little intro of Barbara Gordon. It fits Nolan's directing style like a black winged, leather glove". Angel star David Boreanaz is being tipped to play the caped crusader after his departure from the Superman film. Let's hope Chris Nolan will stick with Guy Pearce. source: darkhorizons Doc Oc's Tentacles: Sci-Fi Wire talked to animatronics designer Steve Johnson about the tentacles of Doc Oc in the Spider-man sequel. The tenclacles will be for real and not created with CGI when possible. Director Sam Raimi wants the actors to interact with real tentacles. This process will make it more difficult to shoot, you need 18 performers to move those things and it will take a lot of preperations before you can shoot. Other Spider-man news, Tobey Maguire is still on for the role of Spidey after rumours that he hurt his back on the set of his movie Seabiscuit. Tobey did hurt his back but is recovering fast, Jake Gyllenhaal (Donnie Darko) was mentioned to replace him. Garfield the Movie: The grumpy cat Garfield is hitting the Big Screen. The movie is being shot with actual cats and dogs, Garfield will be CGI (just like Scooby Doo). I dunno how they'll approach that other character from the famous comic Odie de the dog. source: darkhorizons, aicn New Posters: Hudland.com has the latest Meg Ryan poster Against the Ropes, a true story about a female boxing coach. Latino Review scored a nice one of the upcoming Samuel L. Jacksons "SWAT", shown at ShowWest. Click on the pic to see larger version.
