Superman update: Okay guys, it's official, director Brett Ratner has left Superman: "The difficulty of casting the role of Superman has contributed to my decision. I appreciate the efforts of Warner Bros. and the entire production team during this process." I think the project will be better off with a new director (could be Michael Bay). Ratner is going to focus on Rush Hour 3. Shooting will start right after Jackie Chan finishes Around the world in 80 days. source: variety
Sci-Fi Wire talked to Morgan Freeman and he revealed some news about Rendezvous with Rama. This adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke's sci-fi novel tells a story of astronauts investigating an alien cylinder that has entered the solar system. Freeman still wants to make this movie with David Fincher as director. The project is on hold due to script changes: "The bugaboo there is the script. A picture like this, that is written by Arthur C. Clarke, the problem is trying to get someone to understand what it is. These things, they always want to make it into an action film, so you've got to cowboy it up a little bit. You can't do it with this. And we've been having trouble getting someone to see the science aspect of this, the exploratory aspects of it, rather than the blood and guts and stuff. It's not in limbo. We're pushing hard at it constantly." Jack Ryan and the Rabbit: Paramount has bought the rights to Red Rabbit, another Jack Ryan novel written by Tom Clancy. Paramount wants Ben Affleck to reprise his role (with the succes of Sum of all Fears in mind). The story is set during the Cold War when Ryan discovers that the Soviet Union is planning to assassinate the pope. source: variety Christopher Walken joins Denzel: Christopher Walken is in talks to join Man on Fire. Walken will play an old friend of ex-soldier Denzel Washington who must protect a young girl threatened by kidnappers. Tony Scott who also worked with Denzel on Crimson Tide will helm the movie. WB really has to start from scratch to find Supes, they also will decide this week if director Brett Ratner is still the right man for the job... Source: hollywood reporter US Box office weekend 14 Mar - 16 Mar: Bringing Down The House still brought in the cash, holding on to the top spot. The spykid movie Agent Cody Banks and thriller The Hunted with Tommy Lee Jones and Benicio Del Toro did okay-business. The horror pic Willard, starring Crispin Glover ("Dad" Mcfly from Back to the Future) barely made it to #8. The top ten:
Adaptation review: Finally saw this wonderful movie, too bad movies are being released much later here in Holland. Click on the pic to read my review!
LXG:
Ron Howard directs a western: Ron Howard is making The Missing, a western starring Cate Blanchett. Cate will play a mother in search of her daughter who's kidnapped by a psychotic killer. Tommy Lee Jones is playing Cates father, Aaron Eckhart (The Core) the love interest and Val Kilmer will have a small role as a general. The movie is set in 1850, New Mexcio. source: empire movies Halle Berry is Catwoman: Well, seems like Ashley Judd is out and Halle Berry is in according to Variety. Berry is very anxious to strap on the kitty claws for the Catwoman movie. French director Pitof (visually stunning Vidocq) is helming the project. I'd rather see Berry in a Jinx movie. X2 pics:

Some are more reliable or more interesting than the other. I could just stop posting all this stuff about this movie....but what the heck, is't Supes were talking about, been a fan of him since they've published Marvel Comics over here in Holland, so every lil' rumour about Superman is cool! Here's an update: - Paul Walker (Fast and the Furious) has officially left the project. - Brendan Fraser and Matthew Bomer are still in. - Producer Jon Peters and Brett Ratner aren't getting a long that well, having huge fights all the time. - The budget could be $ 225 million. - Director of Photography Dante Spinotti could hand over his camera to another D.O.P.
