Newsflash:
Hi guys, hieronder de laatste dikke newsflash van de week. Ik ben weer terug in het weerkend met de volgende update, enjoy!:
 Benicio Del Toro speelt de man-beast himself in The Wolf Man. De film vindt plaats in een Victoriaans Engeland, waar Del Toro wordt gebeten door een weerwolf... Se7en screenwriter Andrew Kevin werkt op dit moment aan het script, Del Toro gaat de film ook produceren.
Regisseur Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3) heeft de film Tonight, He Comes verlaten. Will Smith zal nog steeds de hoofdrol van een ondergewaardeerde superheld vertolken in de film met een titel dat je op verschillende manieren kan opvatten. Anyway, Mostow en Smith hadden allebei een ander beeld van de film, daarom besloot Mostow om op te stappen.
Gilmore Girls ster Lauren Graham vertolkt de vrouwelijke hoofdrol tegenover Steve Carell in de Bruce Almighty sequel, Evan Almighty. John Goodman is ook te zien in een bijrol.
William Hurt speelt Kevin Costner's alter ego in de psychologische thriller Mr. Brooks. Costner speelt een man die zichzelf onder controle probeert te houden maar zijn duistere kant houdt meer van wanorde en moord! Right on!

Een snelle Superman Returns update; de film heeft van de Amerikaanse kijkwijzer een PG-13 rating gekregen voor "intense action violence" (cool!), en Hugh Jackman heeft een klein rolletje als Superman's vader.

Gaspard Ulliel talks Young Hannibal:
Coming soon Young Hannibal: Behind the Mask, de prequel van Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal en Red Dragon.
Helaas zonder Hopkins maar ik ben toch nieuwsgierig hoe deze film gaat worden. Gaspard Ulliel vertolkt de hoofdrol in de film over de tienerjaren van onze geliefde kannibaal.
Ulliel's favoriete film is Silence of the Lambs. "I watched it maybe 50 times," vertelde de acteur, "And studied how he was moving, his eye movement. You are moved by him and feel some pity for him even if he does all of those horrible killings."
Hij onthulde ook wat we van de nieuwe film kunnen verwachten: "It's the early cannibalism, he starts to discover the dark side of him and starts to enjoy the killing. You understand why he became like this. There are some really nasty killings, especially near the end. The more savage it is, the more great it is."

Star Wars on cable!:
Star Wars producer Rick McCallum sprak weer over de geplande Star Wars TV series! Wanneer
verschijnt het op de kabel? Well, here's his answer:
"That's not going to happen probably for another year and a half while we develop scripts and everything else. But it's fantastic; we've got some incredible writers. It's going to be much darker, much more character-based, and I think it's going to be everything the fans always wanted the prequels to be. They'll be one-hour episode. It takes place between Episodes III and IV. It's going to be all-new characters, maybe a few bounty hunters in there to start the series off."

Paul Greengrass talks The Bourne Ultimatum:
Het is nu zeker dat The Bourne Supremacy regisseur Paul Greengrass ook het derde deel, The Bourne Ultimatum, voor zijn rekening neemt. De regisseur geeft een nogal interessante update:
"We've got a script and we're underway. It's a new story, completely different from the novel. It was written by Tony Gilroy and Tom Stoppard. It's going to have all the excitement you'd expect from a Bourne film and all the intensity you'd expect from a Bourne story. I can't wait - it's just going to be fuckin' fantastic.
It's going to rock. That's honestly what it's going to do. What direction? We'll have a better car chase, have more exciting action, more intensity and just generally be a fuckin' classy film. I think Matt Damon's looking forward to it like I am. It's going to be an absolute laugh."
Geweldig! Ben zeer benieuwd naar de film!

Newsflash:
Veel interessant directing and casting nieuws vandaag, hieronder een snel overzicht:
Brad Bird's (The Incredibles) volgende film wordt weer een animatiefilm van Pixar met de titel Ratatouille. Het verhaal gaat over de rat Ratatouille, die leeft in de keuken van een chique restaurant.
Ridley Scott heeft een nieuw project aan zijn lange lijst toegevoegd. Zijn volgend film wordt de spionage-thriller Penetration. De film vertelt het verhaal van een CIA agent die in Jordanië een terrorist moet opsporen.
Paul Haggis, regisseur van Oscar-winnaar Crash, is benaderd om Against All Enemies te regisseren. The film is gebaseerd op Richard A. Clarke's bestseller over de Bush administration tijdens de 9/11 ramp.
Adrian Lyne (Unfaithful) begint binnenkort aan Two Minutes to Midnight. De film gaat over een advocaat wiens vrouw is gegijzeld. De man moet van de kidnappers zelfmoord plegen anders wordt zijn vrouw vermoord.
Laura Linney speelt naast Scarlett Johansson in The Nanny Diaries. Johansson vertolkt de rol van een jonge vrouw die door een rijke familie wordt ingehuurd als nanny.
Shia LaBeouf is te zien in D.J. Caruso's Disturbia. Shia speelt een high school leerling die het vermoeden heeft dat zijn buurman een seriemoordenaar is.

U.S. Box office March 10-12:
De romantische komedie Failure to Launch met Matthew McConaughey en Sarah Jessica Parker kwam op de eerste plaats binnen in de American Box Office! De tweede plaats
ging naar de family flick The Shaggy Dog, en de derde positie was bestemd voor de horrorfilm The Hills Have Eyes.

Daniel Craig talks Casino Royale:
Nieuwe James Bond ster Daniel Craig sprak met Coming Soon over Casino Royale! De acteur vertelde het
volgende over de mentale en fysieke voorbereidingen:
"Mentally, I kind of got my head around it before I got the job and decided that this is one of those challenges in life that when they come along, you really just have to face them head-on. Accepting the fact that there's a huge amount of history and baggage that comes along with it, saying, "Okay, that's all there and it's all fantastic," so all I had to do is try and put my self into the situation and bring myself to it. That's all I can do. Physically, I've just been in the gym four months now... constantly.
Of course, I'm aware of the stuff on the internet. The controversy is something I get. When I accepted the job, I understood there would be consequences, but I can't set myself up and protecting myself, I have to say "Okay, I'm going to accept this." Nobody knows more than I do how important this is, and basically, I've taken on this responsibility, and I'm going to give it my best shot, and once the film's made, then we'll see. But judge the movie, because that's the deal."

Ron Perlman talks Hellboy 2!:
Hellboy sequel heeft een (werk)titel, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army! Ron Perlman vertelde iets meer over de titel en de film:
"I think that that's an invention based on a number of different things that have appeared in other comic books. But basically the idea for Hellboy 2 was something that was hatched by Hellboy comic-book creator Mike Mignola, with Hellboy writer-director Guillermo del Toro sitting alongside of him. And then Guillermo, of course, did all of the writing. But, you know, the story was Mignola.
It's a compendium of a lot of elements that they were not able to address in the first one, because the first one was kind of a slave to the backstory and who Hellboy is, how we come to find him, etc., etc. Now they can kind of branch out a little bit and get funky with it and hit some of the other colors that existed in some of the other comic books."
