Wonder Woman finds director!:
Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel en Firefly) wordt de regisseur van Wonder Woman!:
"Wonder Woman is the most iconic female heroine of our time, but in a way, no one has met her yet. What I love most about icons is finding out what's behind them, exploring the price of their power. When producer Joel Silver and I began discussing the character, I realized there is a woman behind the legend who is very fascinating, very uncompromising and in her own way almost vulnerable. She's someone who doesn't belong in this world, and since everyone I know feels that way about themselves, the character clicked for me."
"There's no one better than Joss to adapt the legendary Wonder Woman comicbook character created in the 1940s into a dynamic feature film for 21st century audiences," voegt Matrix producer Joel Silver toe, "Wonder Woman was the first great female superhero to emerge from comic books and later inspire millions of fans in her television incarnation, but unlike her counterparts Batman and Superman, this groundbreaking heroine has yet to be reinvented for the feature film arena."

Tarantino Talks!:
Quentin Tarantino vertelt over zijn toekomstige flicks, waaronder Inglorious Bastards:
"I want to do a Mandarin language movie, but I'm not sure it'll be the next movie. It'll probably be the next movie I do after the one I do next. I'm doing Inglorious Bastards next. It's my bunch-of-guys-on-a-mission movie. It's my World War II movie. I've written scenes. I've written a lot of it but now I have to sit down and start putting it together in a script that I can start shooting. And that's a different thing."
Dat betekent dus dat hij geen Friday the 13th film zal regisseren. Het nieuws dat Tarantino The Ultimate Jason Voorhees film zou regisseren werd vorige week bekend gemaakt. Tarantino geeft commentaar:
"It's a complete lie, I like Jason and everything, but I've no intention of directing a movie! New Line talked to me about it, but it was a complete fabrication, that article. I would love to do a horrorfilm. I'm just saying it's not going to be Friday The 13th..."
Quentin Tarantino is ook van plan om de Japanse Kill Bill versie in Amerika uit te brengen. De twee delen zijn voor deze
versie aan elkaar geplakt en draagt de nieuwe titel, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. De nieuwe gigantische Kill Bill film zal in Amerika de gewaagde NC-17 leeftijdskeuring krijgen:
"Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is definitely getting a wide release. Actually, that'll probably be the first movie that Miramax, under their new company, will be releasing theatrically. It's the Japanese version, that's why I call it that, you know, it should probably come out in the next few months. It's going to be NC-17 in America. We couldn't do that when Disney owned the place but now Disney's the fuck outta there we can do anything we want! It's gonna be off the hook!"
Geweldig! Hoop dat deze versie ook in Nederlands is te zien...

Superman setpics!!!:
Oh my, fantastische luchtfoto's van de Kent Farm zijn door Reuters online geplaatst. Vaste lezers weten dat ik een grote
Superman fan ben, ennuh... ik word een beetje hyper van deze mooie plaatjes. De levensgrote Superman spaceship ziet
er fantastisch uit!!!
De pics zijn in ieder geval een bewijs dat Bryan Singer trouw blijft aan Richard Donner's Superman film. Het ruimteschip heeft
dezelfde vorm als in Donner's film en Singer is ook van plan om ongebruikte scènes met Marlon Brando als Jor-El voor de nieuwe film te gebruiken.

Matt Damon on The Bourne Ultimatum:
Matt Damon sprak over de status van een derde Jason Bourne film, The Bourne Ultimatum:
"We'll probably do that in about a year and a half. We're all signed on in principle, in the sense that we've all agreed that we want to do it, but we're not going to do it unless we have a great script. It's ours to lose at the minute, and if we do make a third one, we want to make it as good as the first two. And if we can't do that, then we're going to have to let it drop.
It's all character and it's not about gadgets and slick storytelling. It's things that people can connect to, emotionally. The guy's had some fucked-up things happen to him, you know what I mean? So he's kind of an anti-hero in that way. But he's done some horrible things, too. I like that, because you don't see that in Hollywood movies a lot."

Bryan Singer's eerste Superman Returns "on-set diary" is nu online!
Layer Cake regisseur Matthew Vaughn kruipt achter de camera voor X-Men 3. De derde film zal waarschijnlijk het verhaal van de Dark Phoenix vertellen waarin Jean Grey, gespeeld door Famke Janssen, een belangrijke rol gaat spelen. Simon Kinberg en Zak Penn hebben het script geschreven. Source: AICN

U.S. Box Office Mar 11-13:
Robots heersen over de Amerikaanse Box Office. De film, van de makers van Ice Age, kwam met $36 miljoen op de eerste plaats binnen. De nummer 1 van vorige week, Vin Diesel's The Pacifier, bleef hangen op de
tweede plaats maar doet het nog behoorlijk goed met $18 miljoen en totale opbrengst van $54 miljoen. Bruce Willis heeft zijn Box Office power verloren want zijn nieuwe film Hostage kwam binnen op een vierde plaats. Here's the rest of The Top Ten:

Trailers!!!:
De indrukwekkende nieuwe Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith trailer is online... maar alleen voor de AOL en HyperSpace members. De rest van de wereld moet nog even een paar dagen geduld hebben, ik hou je op de hoogte zodra die te downloaden is.

Newsflash:
Peter Jackson toont nog steeds interesse om Tolkien's The Hobbit te verfilmen! Het probleem is alleen dat MGM en New Line Cinema de rechten van het boek beheren en nu onderling moeten uitvechten hoe ze de boel gaan verdelen. "I think there is probably a will and a desire to try and get it made," vertelde Peter, "But I think it's gonna be a lot of lawyers sitting in a room trying to thrash out a deal before it will ever happen." Peter verwacht dat het minimaal 3 jaar gaat duren voordat er begonnen kan worden aan The Hobbit. Source: AAP
Steve Martin en regisseur Adam Shankman hebben getekend voor het vervolg op Cheaper by the Dozen. De productie gaat deze zomer van start. Source: Variety

Diesel talks Hannibal and Riddick:
Vin Diesel sprak weer over zijn pet project, Hannibal:
"We're going to have all systems go on 'Hannibal. I've been working on my shots. In fact, my storyboard artist is a guy named Sylvain Despretz, who was Ridley Scott's storyboard artist on 'Gladiator.' It's going to be exciting. Just wait for that one; it's going to all come together. I will not let you down.
I like the idea of making a movie and not being governed by all the things that govern a $200 million movie. I want to do things like make it multilingual, non-English."
Ben benieuwd, Diesel vertelde ook iets over een andere big budget epic, Riddick 2:
"Riddick? Well, you know that I've always had 'C2' planned. I'm silently - and I shouldn't even say this - I'm silently working on 'C2' with some of the outlines that were created when I first thought of doing the three films."
