Superman costume:
Superherohype has some interesting news about the Superman costume design. According to a reliable source the suit is dark blue, probably without the cape, padding underneath to highlight the muscles and the "S" is not placed on a yellow but black background....
(Supes also wears a pink boxershort)

Riddick Returns:
SciFi.com talked to Tripple X star Vin Diesel about the Pitch Black sequel Chronicles of Riddick where he's taking on some new alien villains: "I've been creating creature characteristics and attributes you won't see until scene two or scene three and researching on the Internet to explain negative matter: where these villains come from, these Necromongers. [We have to explain] their scientific existence. We're going to create this huge universe. And I'm excited about exploring this character's purpose in this universe and what his whole deal is".
Writer/ Director David Twohy is also attached for the sequel and also wants to make a third chapter. Diesel and Twohy mentioned a "Evil" Star Wars-like trilogy.

Starship Troopers 2:
Yep, a sequel is in the works, unfortunately is original director Paul Verhoeven not attached, even worse, it's going to be a straight to video production. The good news, SPFX guru Phil Tippett will be directing this one. Tippett also created the effects for the first part, the original cast will not be involved.

Star Wars Episode III: Jedi de ja vu:
The Official Star Wars website announced that they will recreate some sets from the first movies (Episode IV: A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back). Production designer Gavin Bocquet is going to dig in to the Star Wars archives to find blueprints and production stills to build the sets. Fans speculate that Yoda's home Dagobah is one of the sets they will rebuild, the rest is unknown but I'll know the Force is with Gavin Bocquet.

The Looney Tunes are back:
Latino Review posted some new pics from the movie Looney Tunes: Back in Action. This time no Michael Jordan but Jenna Elfman and Brendan Fraser star in this one, directed by none other than Joe Dante (Gremlins)!

Billy Bob in the Alamo:
USA Today has the first pic of Billy Bob Thornton as Davy Crockett in the upcoming The Alamo. The film is still in production with John Lee Hancock as director. Dennis Quaid will play Sam Houston and Jason Patric as Jim Bowie.

Superman casting news:
More Superman casting news. According to E! online David Boreanaz (Angel), Jerry O' Connoll (Crossing Jordan) and Matthew Bomer are all in the running to play Supes. Jerry is confinced that he's the right guy for the job and also mentioned he looks great in blue spandex. EW weekly reports that Brett Ratner is impressed by the performance of Matthew Bomer. Man, just pick a guy and shoot the damn movie... Let me know who was born to play the Man of Steel (besides Christopher Reeve of course)!

Hulk trailer description:
Coming soon has a great report from the annual ShoWest convention. The place where all the studio's present their upcoming movies. A new Hulk trailer was shown and someone made the following report:
"It was loaded with shots of Bruce Banner changing into the Hulk and dozens of shots of the Hulk from close ups to arial shots. This was the highlight of the reel and man did they get the character exactly as I remember when I used to read the comics. This could be bigger than the SPIDER-MAN movie. My favorite shots were the Hulk picking up Jennifer Connelly and when the Hulk jumps off a cliff holding onto a helicopter. (Could have been an airplane, it happened so fast) Even the shots of the Hulk leaping, what appears to be, a mile were realistic (I mean believable). "We get shots of the dose of radiation that curses Banner, the lab, total destruction of an army after the Hulk, warm and fuzzy shots of the Hulk and total mayhem of practically everything in the Hulk's path. I can't wait for this movie."
Well, I also can't wait! I wanna see the Hulkster right now!!!

Ennio Morricone writes soundtrack for dutch movie:
Well folks, I live in a crazy small country known as The Low Lands. Holland doesn't make movies that often, but when we make one it'll end up being nomimated (and winning) for best foreign movie (Character, Antonia's Line and this years Zus & Zo). Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports something unbelievable that probably give the dutch movie business a nice boost. Ennio Morricone will compose the soundtrack for a little dutch movie called Sportman van de Eeuw, translation is Athlete of the Century! The movie tells the story of a pole sitting champion who wants to break the record but it'll take his whole life to achieve this goal. He sees the changes of the 20th century as the years go by. From the economical depression, WW II, to some typical dutch traditions.
Writer Mischa Alexander who worked on dutch commercial movies like Volle Maan and All Stars will direct this picture. Producer E. Rechsteiner mentioned that Morricone was very intrigued by the story of typical dutch people from the northern part of Holland and their traditions. Morricone thought it was the best script he read since Cinema Paradiso. The film will be reased next summer 2004.
