Newsflash:
De nieuwe kick-ass trailer van X-Men: The Last stand is online! X3 is geregisseerd door Brett Ratner en de cast bestaat uit Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ian McKellen, Famke Janssen, Anna Paquin, Kelsey Grammer, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Shawn Ashmore, Aaron Stanford, Vinnie Jones en Patrick Stewart.
Oscar winnaar Philip Seymour Hoffman speelt naast Laura Linney in The Savages. Hoffman en Linney spelen twee bloedverwanten die geforceerd worden om voor hun vader te zorgen.
Jack Black is te zien naast Nicole Kidman en Jennifer Jason Leigh in de nieuwe film van Noah Baumbach, de titel is nog niet bekend.
Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Claire Danes, Charlie Cox en Sienna Miller hebben getekend voor Stardust. De fantasy film is gebaseerd op een comic en vindt gedeeltelijk plaats in een magische wereld. Layer Cake's Matthew Vaughn verzorgt de regie.

And the winner is...:
Helaas werd The Oscars niet live uitgezonden op de Nederlandse televisie en moest ik het doen met een
korte reportage op het ontbijtnieuws. Het was een avond vol verassingen want de Oscar voor beste film ging niet naar kanshebber Brokeback Mountain maar naar de geweldige film Crash!
Peter Jackson's King Kong won de Oscar voor visual effects, sound editing en sound mixing. Hieronder een overzicht van de belangrijkste winnaars:
Category: Actor in a leading role
Nominees: Philip Seymour Hoffman (Capote), Terrence Howard (Hustle & Flow), Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain), Joaquin Phoenix (Walk the Line), David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck)
The Winner: Philip Seymour Hoffman. Fantastisch, maar ik vond David Strathairn's prestatie in Good Night, and Good Luck ook een Oscar waard.
Category: Actor in a supporting role
Nominees: George Clooney (Syriana), Matt Dillon (Crash), Paul Giamatti (Cinderella Man), Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain), William Hurt (A History of Violence)
The Winner: George Clooney. Ik vond zijn rol iets te klein om het beeldje te winnen. Mijn voorkeur ging uit naar Matt Dillon of Jake Gyllenhaal.
Category: Actress in a leading role
Nominees: Judi Dench, (Mrs. Henderson Presents), Felicity Huffman, (Transamerica), Keira Knightley, (Pride & Prejudice), Charlize Theron, (North Country), Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line)
The Winner: Reese Witherspoon. Finally, the Sweet Home Alabama star did it! I just love Reese, great job!

Nominees: Amy Adams, (Junebug), Catherine Keener, (Capote), Frances McDormand, (North Country), Rachel Weisz, (The Constant Gardener), Michelle Williams (Brokeback Mountain)
The Winner: Rachel Weisz. Helaas heb ik The Constant Gardener (nog) niet gezien...

The Winner: Memoirs of a Geisha. Jammer dat Wally Pfister niet heeft gewonnen. De zwart-wit beelden van Good Night, and Good Luck, geschoten door Robert Elswit waren ook indrukwekkend.
Category: Directing
Nominees: Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain), Bennett Miller (Capote), Paul Haggis (Crash), George Clooney (Good Night, and Good Luck), Steven Spielberg (Munich)
The Winner: Ang Lee. Voor mij een moeilijke keuze, Paul Haggis, George Clooney en Ang lee stonden bovenaan mijn lijstje.
Category: Best picture
Nominees: Brokeback Mountain, Capote, Crash, Good Night, and Good Luck, Munich
The Winner: Crash. Yeah, Crash heeft dit dubbel en dwars verdiend!

Barbara Broccoli talks Casino Royale!:
Daniel Craig is een slechte keuze, hij kan geen auto rijden, vecht als een meisje en verloor twee tanden tijdens een gevecht...
Negatieve vibes omringen de James Bond film Casino Royale, dat nog maar net in productie is gegaan. Producer Barbara Broccoli gaf eindelijk commentaar op de geruchten.
"His teeth are fine, his driving is fine, he doesn't have heat rash and he's not afraid of the water," was Broccoli's tegenaanval op de negatieve reacties, "We're aware of it, but it doesn't mean anything to us. There's always a heightened interest in Bond, and every time we recast the role there's even more. It's just in keeping with what we've been experiencing."

U.S. Box Office March 04-06:
Geen hoge cijfers tijdens het eerste Box Office weekend van maart. Madea's Family Reunion staat nog steeds op de eerste plaats maar
bracht met 13 miljoen een stuk minder op dan vorige week. Helaas deden nieuwkomers 16 Blocks met Bruce Willis en de sci-fi flick Ultraviolet het ook
een stuk minder dan verwacht. Here's the rest of the Top Ten:

Newsflash:
John Travolta en Queen Latifah beginnen binnenkort met het filmen van Hairspray! The film is gebaseerd op de succesvolle broadway musical, en de musical is weer gebaseerd op de komedie van John Waters. Volgen jullie het nog? De nieuwe film wordt geregisseerd door Adam Shankman (Bringing Down the House).

Milla Jovovich talks Resident Evil: Extinction:
Milla Jovovich, binnenkort te zien in Ultraviolet, sprak over haar volgende film, Resident Evil: Extinction:
"Well, definitely, Alice has changed a bit, and so we can expect some crazy new stuff. The script is awesome, and it's going to be really good. I don't want to say too much, because I really haven't talked to them about what I can and can't say. I would tell you the whole story, but I'm not sure I can."
Om eerlijk te zijn, de eerste Resident Evil film wist mij niet te boeien en dan nu een derde deel... Paul W.S. Anderson heeft het script geschreven en zal waarschijnlijk ook regisseren.
