Newsflash:
Hi guys, got some very interesting updates to end this week. Will be back with a new update this weekend!:
MARLON BRANDO IS JOR-EL IN SUPERMAN RETURNS?!! Oh yeah, baby, here's what Latino Review have posted:
As far as we can tell Brando will not be CGI, but Singer plans to use stock footage of Marlon Brando that was originally shot by "Superman" director Richard Donner. Considering that Jor-El's role in Superman Returns is very minor this might just work.
Yahoo! updated their War of the Worlds page with new behind-the-scenes clips.
A couple of new Fantastic Four pics hit the web, click on the superheroes for more.

Star Trek 11!:
Great news for the die hard Star Trek fans, Erik Jendresen has been hired to write the 11th Star Trek film. Here's what he had to say:
"I can certainly say that the story concept, the basic idea of this thing, is pretty damn big. I was not a diehard Star Trek fan but when they first approached me, I wasn't really interested. But they said, 'What if we could approach this as a blank slate, and here's a notion.' When I heard the notion, I realized that the people I was talking to were serious, and genuinely dedicated. I started to really think about it, and, ultimately to develop a story. And it's a pretty good one."

Jendresen confirmed that the movie would take place more than a century before Kirk:
"We're going 160-odd years before Kirk is born. It's an earlier time, and I think it would be really refreshing to feel something in the course of telling this tale, instead of being wowed by special effects, or presenting another crew in jeopardy where, in the end, the captain does something brilliant, and all's right with the world.
By the end of this story, everyone isn't fine, I can safely say as a storyteller with certain standards... my intention is literally as a writer, as a storyteller, as a filmmaker, to go boldly where no one has gone before."

Rock talks Doom!!!:
The Rock talks about his role as the bad guy in the upcoming Doom movie!:
"I'm playing the commanding officer who, without ruining it for everyone, turns bad, which is great. I'm so excited about that film, I'll tell you why. Number one, it's my first rated-R movie and it's a very unapologetic rated-R movie. Not only that, but the monsters are real, they're not CGI. They're made by Stan Winston who did Jurassic Park and Predator and all that. So the monster's got weight and when they're in a scene they're like Aliens! I get to transform and become, I'm going to tell you this right now, the BMFOTP. Know what that means? It means the baddest motherfucker on the planet."
Hehe, well, there ya go!

Richard Donner (Lethal Weapon) directs Bruce Willis in the action thriller 16 Blocks. Source: Variety
Tom Selleck said he'll be back to reprise his role as Magnum in a movie version. Seems that a producer came to him a year or so back and told him "we've purchased the rights to Magnum. We want to make a film. We won't do it with anyone else but you". He admitted he's surprised they're not getting a bigger star to do it, but said "at the same time, if they do that, they're cheesing off a huge amount of people who loved the series". He "looks forward to letting his old Hawaiian shirts breath again." Source: Dark Horizons
Quentin Tarantino is in talks to write and direct a new Friday the 13th movie called, The Ultimate Jason Voorhees, according to IGN Filmforce. This is very interesting, other sources won't confirm the rumour but don't deny it either... I'll keep you posted!

Frank Miller talks Sin City... and the new trailer is online!:
Sin City creator Frank Miller and co-director of the big screen version talked to Scifi Wire about the film! Robert Rodriguez (Desperado) asked Frank to help him direct the movie:
"There were two points in my process as a director, one of them was when Robert first said, 'Come on, jump in.' And then he said, 'What do you want to direct?'
At first we were talking about directing different segments" of Sin City. Then Rodriguez just shook his head at one point and said, 'I need you every day, and also I don't want to hang you out to dry. So why don't we just co-direct the whole way through?' I went 'Cool.'
Talk about going to school. It was great. Later, the Director's Guild gave him some trouble and said I couldn't get credit. Robert and I were in his office, and he said, 'Well, Frank, maybe I'll give you sole credit.' I said, 'Robert, I can't take that. We're co-directors. I'm not going to take your credit.' And he said, 'I guess I'll just quit the Director's Guild', which he did. I mean, what a mensch."

That's amazing! Frank Miller is one of my hero's and I've learned a lot from his comics (see my Movie Art Page). I can't wait to see this film!
There's more, guys, the incredible new trailer is also online, check it out right here! And for the Sin City fans, I've recently created this little sketch of Marv, Frank Miller-style!

Bruce Campbell talks Evil Dead!:
Director Sam Raimi talked a few times about the Evil Dead remake some weeks ago. Now Bruce Campbell, star of the Evil Dead series, also revealed some nice details about the remake:
"We're going to do the remake and none of us feel bad about it because it's our own remake. We're not getting some 1970's TV show out of Aaron Spelling's file draw and making a movie. This is our own movie. So we're gonna update it for a new generation with new effects and tell a new story with a new cast. We'll be pulling the strings from behind. And hopefully they'll like it. I don't know when it will come about. It'll take a while to find a director and to write it and get it all set but it's gonna be made."
Campbell also talked about a possible sequel, Evil Dead 4 (...or Army of Darkness 2):
"Everybody wants to make it. I do, Sam does, Rob Tapert does, so that's not an issue. The only issue is that this guy happens to have stumbled into a phenomenon. So until that dies down he won't have time. And really... there's no more mystery. That's it. There's nothing beyond that. It really is that simple. To tell the guy who made Spider-man to stop so he can make Evil Dead 4... it doesn't compute."

Kathleen Kennedy talks War of the Worlds:
War of the World producer Kathleen Kennedy talked about the director of the flick; "I have not seen Steven Spielberg have this much fun in a long time. He's uniquely suited to this genre in a way no one else is."
Kathleen also hinted that we can expect some spectacular scenes just like Jurassic Park's Dino rampage moments. "There are tons of those moments," she says, "in fact, there's one in the first 15 minutes that "will knock your socks off."
The alien war machines are also huge. "Let's just say that they are five times the size of a T. rex," reveals the producer.
