Newsflash:
Hi guys, heb een paar geweldige updates vandaag om mijn week goed af te sluiten. Nieuwe update vindt dit weekend weer plaats!:
 MARLON BRANDO IS JOR-EL IN SUPERMAN RETURNS?!! Oh yeah, baby, Latino Review heeft het volgende hierover geplaatst:
As far as we can tell Brando will not be CGI, but Singer plans to use stock footage of Marlon Brando that was originally shot by "Superman" director Richard Donner. Considering that Jor-El's role in Superman Returns is very minor this might just work.
Yahoo! heeft de War of the Worlds pagina vernieuwd met behind-the-scenes clips.

Star Trek 11!:
Goed nieuws voor de Star Trek fans, Erik Jendresen is gevraagd om het script te schrijven van Star Trek film numero 11.
"I can certainly say that the story concept, the basic idea of this thing, is pretty damn big," vertelde Jendresen, "I was not a diehard Star Trek fan but when they first approached me, I wasn't really interested. But they said, 'What if we could approach this as a blank slate, and here's a notion.' When I heard the notion, I realized that the people I was talking to were serious, and genuinely dedicated. I started to really think about it, and, ultimately to develop a story. And it's a pretty good one."
Het verhaal zal voor het Captain Kirk-tijdperk plaatsvinden:
"We're going 160-odd years before Kirk is born. It's an earlier time, and I think it would be really refreshing to feel something in the course of telling this tale, instead of being wowed by special effects, or presenting another crew in jeopardy where, in the end, the captain does something brilliant, and all's right with the world.
By the end of this story, everyone isn't fine, I can safely say as a storyteller with certain standards... my intention is literally as a writer, as a storyteller, as a filmmaker, to go boldly where no one has gone before."

Rock talks Doom!!!:
The Rock sprak over zijn rol als bad guy in de videogamefilm Doom!:
"I'm playing the commanding officer who, without ruining it for everyone, turns bad, which is great. I'm so excited about that film, I'll tell you why. Number one, it's my first rated-R movie and it's a very unapologetic rated-R movie. Not only that, but the monsters are real, they're not CGI. They're made by Stan Winston who did Jurassic Park and Predator and all that. So the monster's got weight and when they're in a scene they're like Aliens! I get to transform and become, I'm going to tell you this right now, the BMFOTP. Know what that means? It means the baddest motherfucker on the planet."

Jim Caviezel speelt de rol van mystery man in the thriller Unknown. De rest van de cast bestaat uit Greg Kinnear, Joe Pantoliano en Peter Stormare. Source: Variety

Tom Selleck vertelde dat hij weer zijn flitsende Hawaii-blouse en korte broek aantrekt voor de filmversie van Magnum! Een producer heeft hem benaderd en is van plan om alleen de film te maken als Selleck de hoofdrol speelt. Source: Dark Horizons
Quentin Tarantino gaat volgens IGN Filmforce een nieuwe Friday the 13th, genaamd The Ultimate Jason Voorhees schrijven en regisseren! Zeer interessant, andere bronnen willen dit nieuws niet bevestigen maar ook niet ontkennen, I'll keep you posted!

Frank Miller talks Sin City... and the new trailer is online!:
Frank Miller, Sin City bedenker en co-director van de bioscoopversie, sprak met Scifi Wire over de film! Regisseur Robert Rodriguez (Desperado)
stapte uit de Director's Guild zodat Frank Miller een credit als co-director kon krijgen:
"There were two points in my process as a director, one of them was when Robert first said, 'Come on, jump in.' And then he said, 'What do you want to direct?'
At first we were talking about directing different segments" of Sin City. Then Rodriguez just shook his head at one point and said, 'I need you every day, and also I don't want to hang you out to dry. So why don't we just co-direct the whole way through?' I went 'Cool.'
Talk about going to school. It was great. Later, the Director's Guild gave him some trouble and said I couldn't get credit. Robert and I were in his office, and he said, 'Well, Frank, maybe I'll give you sole credit.' I said, 'Robert, I can't take that. We're co-directors. I'm not going to take your credit.' And he said, 'I guess I'll just quit the Director's Guild', which he did. I mean, what a mensch."
Geweldig! Frank Miller is één van mijn helden en heb veel van zijn comics geleerd (zie de Movie Art Page). Ik ben zeer benieuwd hoe de
film is!

Yahoo! heeft een geweldige behind the scenes clip geplaatst van Michael Bay's sci-fi thriller The Island.
De film gaat over het klonen van mensen en de cast bestaat uit Ewan McGregor, Scarlett Johansson, Djimon Hounsou, Sean Bean en Steve Buscemi.

U.S. Box Office Mar 04-06:
Surprise! Ik had verwacht dat Get Shorty sequel, Be Cool, op de eerste plaats zou binnenkomen maar
de "Vin Diesel goes Kindergarten Cop"-film The Pacifier, was met $30 miljoen de grote winnaar!
Be cool moest het met een tweede plaats doen maar verdiende toch nog $23 miljoen.

Casting News:
Hi guys, vandaag een geweldige grote update met veel pics en trailers om het weekend goed te beginnen! Laten we
eerst van start gaan met het laatste casting nieuws!:
Nicolas Cage gaat spelen in Neil LaBute's The Wicker Man, een remake van de thriller uit 1973. Cage werkt op dit moment aan Ghost Rider.
Robert Duvall is de vader van Eric Bana in Lucky You. Curtis Hanson (Wonder Boys) regisseert de film over de Poker World Series.
Molly Shannon is toegevoegd aan de cast van Sofia Coppola's Marie-Antoinette. Kirsten Dunst speelt de hoofdrol.
Craig Kilborn en Jon Lovitz spelen naast Rob Schneider en David Spade in de baseball komedie The Benchwarmers. Adam Sandler en Allen Covert schreven het script, Dennis Dugan (Big Daddy) regisseert.
Stephen Rea (The Crying Game) speelt tegenover Natalie Portman en James Purefoy in de actie-thriller V For Vendetta. The Wachowski Bros en Joel Silver treden op als producer. James McTeigue, first assistent director van The Matrix films, maakt zijn regiedebuut.

Bruce Campbell talks Evil Dead!:
Enkele weken geleden sprak Sam Raimi over de Evil Dead remake. Nu is Evil Dead ster Bruce Campbell aan de beurt.
Hij vertelde het volgende over de film:
"We're going to do the remake and none of us feel bad about it because it's our own remake. We're not getting some 1970's TV show out of Aaron Spelling's file draw and making a movie. This is our own movie. So we're gonna update it for a new generation with new effects and tell a new story with a new cast. We'll be pulling the strings from behind. And hopefully they'll like it. I don't know when it will come about. It'll take a while to find a director and to write it and get it all set but it's gonna be made."
Campbell liet ook meer los over een mogelijke sequel, Evil Dead 4 (...of Army of Darkness 2):
"Everybody wants to make it. I do, Sam does, Rob Tapert does, so that's not an issue. The only issue is that this guy happens to have stumbled into a phenomenon. So until that dies down he won't have time. And really... there's no more mystery. That's it. There's nothing beyond that. It really is that simple. To tell the guy who made Spider-man to stop so he can make Evil Dead 4... it doesn't compute."

Kathleen Kennedy talks War of the Worlds:
War of the World producer Kathleen Kennedy sprak over de regisseur van de scifi film;
"I have not seen Steven Spielberg have this much fun in a long time. He's uniquely suited to this genre in a way no one else is."
Kathleen onthulde ook dat we een aantal spectaculaire scènes kunnen verwachten, in de stijl van de Jurassic Park films.
"There are tons of those moments," vertelde ze, "in fact, there's one in the first 15 minutes that "will knock your socks off."
De alien war machines op lange poten met een dodelijke laserstraal zijn ook gigantisch. "Let's just say that they are five times the size of a T. rex," onthulde de producer.
