Michael Bay talks The Island:
Uber-director Michael Bay (Bad Boys 2) vertelde meer over zijn nieuwste film, sci-fi thriller The Island.
Het verhaal gaat over het klonen van mensen om die te gebruiken voor 'onderdelen'. "This is very simple," vertelde Bay, "It's about humans ... that want to live longer. ... This is the slaughterhouse. We all eat meat. We don't want to see what goes on in the slaughterhouse. So to me, it's got a real basic human thing. Everyone in our audience or in the world would want to live longer if they could, you know? And that's what this is about. And it's... the extent to which you go to achieve that.
this is not a movie about making your own sci-fi world, because everything has been done so much. What's interesting to me about this movie, it's got a whole humanistic aspect. Some sci-fi movies to me are about a bunch of mumbo jumbo, you know what I mean? Sometimes I can't even figure out what Star Wars is about, you know? I mean, with the Senate and I don't know, I get lost."
I confess, ik ben gek op Bay's gladde, gelikte actie spektakels, ben benieuwd hoe deze film is. Ewan McGregor en Scarlett Johansson spelen de hoofdrol, de film draait deze zomer in de bios.

Newsflash:
 Acteur-regisseur Peter Berg vertelde meer over zijn nieuwste film, Splinter Cell, de bioscoopversie van de Tom Clancy videogame; "It's going excellent, J.T is doing the weight of the writing on it, but I'm going to take all the credit. I'm a big fan of that kind of story. I love secret-agent books - I love "Bourne" (Identity) - with missions, and kidnappings, executions and assassinations. I read books like, all the Ludlum books, I like the Alistair MacLaine books like Guns of Navarone…. I just like that kind of stuff." Berg is van plan om een goede acteur, zoals Thomas Jane, Eric Bana of Kurt Russell, te veranderen in een spetterende action star. Coming soon... Face/Off 2? Yep, screenwriter Mike Werb heeft al een aantal gesprekken gevoerd met John Woo over het schrijven van een vervolg. "Initially, it was just a similiar idea," vertelde Mike, "Then we decided we might as well make it a sequel, not a direct sequel, but a sequel all the same. George Lucas talks Episode III and future projects:
George Lucas gaf een update over Revenge of the Sith en vertelde ook meer over zijn toekomstige projecten!
"The film is finished, basically," vertelde Lucas over Episode III, "we just finished the music last week, and I'm going to mix it next week. In a month, it will be pretty much finished. We're getting very close now, but we're still working away like crazy. It's hard to stand up, breathe and realize it's all coming to an end."
Wat staat er na Star Wars op de planning? "I'm going to produce a film called Red Tails," onthulde George, "about black fighter pilots during World War II. I'm going to produce a couple TV shows, then I'll think about when I'll direct again."
Dat betekent dus dat Indiana Jones IV weer wordt uitgesteld. George Lucas gaat pas aan de film beginnen als het script perfect is; "We're working on scripts but we're not going to do it until we get a script we're happy with. Indiana Jones IV should be a movie that moves forward, is entertaining, and has an interesting story to tell."

De komedie-drama Diary of a Mad Black Woman kwam met $22 miljoen op de eerste plaats binnen in
de Amerikaanse Box Office. De winnaar van vorige week, Will Smith's Hitch, staat nu op

Yeah, I read Kate with Brandon, and they were really terrific together. And she was great. I met her through Kevin Spacey's film "Beyond the Sea".
Okay. I thought Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor was excellent casting. He's perfect for the role.
Oh yeah. I'm looking forward to that. I mean we haven't worked together in 10 years so it'll be fun.

Trailers galore!:
Een flinke lading nieuwe trailers zijn online verschenen! Hieronder een overzicht, de eerste is mijn favoriete trailer, enjoy;
Ryan Reynolds (Blade Trinity) en Melissa George spelen in de remake van de horror klassieker The Amityville Horror. Michael Bay, die ons eerder trakteerde op een remake van The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, produceerde ook deze film.
Check out Paul Walker, Jessica Alba, Ashley Scott, Scott Caan en Josh Brolin in de actie-thriller Into the Blue.
De volgende trailer ziet er prachtig uit, doet me een beetje denken aan Boogie Nights. Bow Bow speelt tegenover Nick Cannon, Chi McBride en Charlie Murphy in de rolschaats-film Roll Bounce.
Drew Barrymore en Jimmy Fallon zijn te zien in de nieuwe komedie van de Farrelly Brother, Fever Pitch.
Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock, Brendan Fraser, Matt Dillon en Ryan Phillippe spelen in de drama-thriller Crash.

Colin Farrell is Sonny Crocket:
Oh my, de eerste foto's van Colin Farrell als Sonny Crocket zijn online! Farrell vergezelt Jamie Foxx (als Ricardo Tubbs) in Michael Mann's bioscoopversie van Miami Vice.
De film zal een stuk ruiger zijn dan de TV serie, het is nog niet bekend of Don Johnson en Philip Michael Thomas ook een klein rolletje krijgen. Ben zeer benieuwd, Michael "Heat" Mann maakt er vast
een spektakel van, klik op de pic voor meer!

James Bond Casino Royale update:
Hier weer het allerlaatste nieuws over James Bond film #21. Regisseur Martin Campbell (Goldeneye) zal
Ian Flemmings eerste James Bond roman, Casino Royale, verfilmen.
"There are things that will have to be changed from the original novel," vertelde Campbell. "The Cold War elements will have to be reconfigured, for example, but 'Casino Royale' will be a grittier, tougher and more realistic Bond movie. We'll be getting away from the huge visual effects kind of film. In the new film, Bond is essentially starting out in his career, and has just recently become part of the double-0 section. The idea is to put a bit of the dash back in Bond. By the end of the movie, the character will have been forged into the wiser, harder Bond we know."
Klinkt zeer interessant en ik vind het nu wel erg jammer dat Quentin Tarantino het boek niet mocht verfilmen. Tarantino kwam met het Casino Royale idee, een ruige back-to-basics James Bond. Helaas werd zijn verzoek om de film te regisseren door de producers niet goedgekeurd.
Verder is er nieuws over twee kanshebbers die in de running zijn voor de hoofdrol. Nip/Tuck's Julian McMahon is er één van; "I'm a big James Bond fan. I met the producers for a final audition. They told me to expect a decision in a couple of months and they said it was between me and one other person. It's going to be a very nervous wait."
De andere kandidaat is Clive Owen (King Arthur). Mijn voorkeur gaat uit naar McMahon...

Rocky 6, Rambo 4...:
Stallone's Rocky 6 begint grote vormen aan te nemen. Sony en MGM zijn erg onder de indruk van Stallone's script en het geheel wordt helemaal aantrekkelijk
door het magere budget van $20 miljoen. De film zal anders worden dan we gewend zijn. Rocky 6 wordt ruig en zeer realistisch, net als Raging Bull. Mijn bronnen vermelden dat het publiek zal schrikken van de donkere toon
en gewaagde onderwerpen. De filmstijl zal wilde camerabewegingen bevatten, in de stijl van The Bourne Supremacy.
Ander Stallone nieuws, het script van Rambo 4 is ook klaar! Stallone moet nu nog een studio vinden die het geld ophoest.
