Indiana Jones IV delayed?:
Variety meldt dat de nieuwe Indiana Jones film (weer)
wordt uitgesteld. Het schijnt dat George Lucas niet tevreden is over het script van Frank Darabont en een nieuwe
screenwriter heeft ingehuurd voor een rewrite. De produktie zou dit jaar moeten beginnen met een release ergens
in 2005. De kans is groot dat Spielberg, Lucas en Ford nu aan andere projecten gaan beginnen en we nog langer
moeten wachten op een nieuw avontuur van Indy... Dan maar weer de DVD box uit de kast halen.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind poster:
Een mooie nieuwe poster van Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is nu online! Het verhaal is
geschreven door de geweldige Charlie Kaufman (Adaptation) en de cast bestaat uit Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Kirsten Dunst en Frodo..ehh..Elijah Wood.
Het verhaal gaat over Joel (Carrey) die ontdekt dat zijn vriendin Clementine (Winslet) haar herinneringen van hun
relatie heeft uitgewist. Klik op Carrey voor een grote versie.

Guess who's Lex Luthor!:
Ben altijd in voor een sappige Superman roddel, hier is het laatste nieuws over de Man van Staal:
"A source expanded on these recent Superman rumours and dropped another name into the mix - Bruce Willis. They didn't know who Willis is up for but surely it can't be anyone else but Lex Luthor? With Willis' box office clout we could have a similiar situation as in 1978 with Richard Donner casting the then unknown Christopher Reeve."
Yep, Willis as Luthor, how cool is that!

Casting News:
Here are the latest casting developments:
 Ben Affleck zal de hoofdrol spelen in Brat Farrar. Fight Club screenwriter Jim Uhls zal het script schrijven (vraag me niet waar het verhaal over gaat...).
Nicole Kidman zal tegenover Will Ferrell spelen in Bewitched met Nora Ephron als regisseur. De film is gebaseerd op de klassieke TV serie.
Sam Rockwell zal Zaphod, de twee-koppige galaxy president, spelen in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Kevin Conran talks Sky Captain:
Scifi Wire sprak met Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow's production designer Kevin Conran. Jude Law
speelt de hoofdrol en Kevin's broer Kerry Conran heeft de action-adventure flick geregisseerd. Kevin heeft zich laten inspireren
door de classic comics uit de jaren 30 en 40.
"Oh, boy. I mean, there are many. And the first one, of course, everybody picks up on, which I'm glad about, are the old Fleischer Brothers Superman cartoons. But from there, as far as me personally, it's a laundry list of people." They include comics illustrator Alex Raymond, industrial designer Raymond Loewy, famed SF artist Chesley Bonestell and architectural illustrator Hugh Ferris. "There's a million of them," Conran said. "I'm just touching the surface."
The movie is set in a fantastical 1930s New York and features giant robots, flying wings and art-deco inspired buildings, as well as computer-generated locations from Manhattan to Nepal. "I would say actually Kerry and I, having grown up together and liking the same things, we have a little bit of a mind meld, so we didn't have to talk about it a lot," Kevin said. "The difference is, Kerry's definitely a lot more film driven, and I'm more of a comic-book guy. So we're sort of attacking it from different angles in that regard. But we both know enough about the other's thing that referencing these things were kind of easy."
Ik kan niet wachten om de film te zien maar helaas zal de film pas deze zomer in Amerika (en hopelijk Nederland) uitkomen. Klik op de pic om de geweldige trailer te zien.

Pixar meets Marvel?:
Marvel Enterprises is druk aan het onderhandelen om met Pixar een deal te sluiten. Pixar heeft het helemaal
gehad met Walt Disney Co. en zal het bedrijf verlaten nadat ze hun laatste twee projecten The Incredibles en Cars
hebben afgerond. Zou geweldig zijn als Pixar een live-action versie gaat maken van Marvels superhelden!

Rodriguez 3-D:
Regisseur Robert Rodriguez is van plan om weer een 3-D film te maken na het succes van Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over.
De film is gebaseerd op een idee van zijn vijf jarige zoon:
"I really enjoy making movies 3-D, and I was enhancing [Spy Kids 3-D] for the DVD at home
in my garage in Austin and then they came to me with the idea of doing another movie in 3-D. I can't give away too many details about it right now, though.
What I can tell you is that it's a super-cool family fantasy and after you see it you will see that I couldn't have described it anyway."

Stephen Sommers talks Van Helsing:
Mummy Regisseur Stephen Sommers sprak met SFX Magazine over zijn nieuwste monster film Van Helsing:
"I didn't want this movie to be Mummy 3 with different monsters. I went into this saying, 'There are no monsters, just people with really bad problems!' They're all human; they're all people. Even Frankenstein is a man…welll, he's seven men…but he's still human. This film will still have a lot of fun, but it'll be more dramatic, I took Dracula, the Wolf Man and Frankenstein seriously as characters. You can't be tongue-in-cheek and you can't be winking. It's got to be inherently more dramatic".

What's next for you?
"A movie called Josiah's Canon, which is a bank robbery film. Money Talks 2, I'm producing with Chris Tucker. I'm producing a film called Santa's Slaythat my assistant is directing - David Steinem. It's a $5 million movie. I'm doing a TV show based on my life called Be Chai for Fox, which is cool. Samurai Jack, I'm developing."
Rat obviously has a number of projects lined up not only for you to direct, but also to produce. Was this always the plan for you?
"Yeah. I get more joy out of producing movies. I'm doing Hong Kong Phooey with Alcon and Warner Brothers. The Photograph at Lions Gate. I have as much joy producing...I mean, my assistant is now directing a movie. He has his own assistant. He was my assistant a few months ago. I enjoy helping filmmakers make their dreams come true, really. I get more joy out of being on the set of a film I'm producing than I do directing. Even though I love directing and I'll never stop directing, it's so much fun when I don't have to actually direct."

Jonathan Hensleigh talks The Punisher:
Regisseur Jonathan Hensleigh sprak met Sci Fi Wire
over zijn regiedebuut The Punisher. Hij heeft het verhaal van deze wreker uiterst zorgvuldig geanalyseerd:
"I had to ask myself intellectual questions like, 'To what extent do crimes against a person become so unconscionable, so heinous, that even a person who does not believe in vigilantism can resort to vigilantism in a more just way?'" Hensleigh said. "That was the equation for me. I told Marvel that I didn't just want to do a revenge story, that I wanted to do the mother of all revenge stories. I wanted to ramp everything up. I can't really go further without doing spoilers here. The underlying events that give rise to Frank Castle's vigilantism are not from the comic. I invented a lot of that. I made it a lot worse."

Superman and Batman update:
Okay, ik had gisteren bijna de mega-headline van Beyonce als Lois Lane en Depp als Lex Luthor in de Superman
film op mijn site geplaatst. Maar vlak voordat ik het wilde uploaden werd bekend dat de geruchten niet helemaal
juist waren. Superhero Hype
kwam in contact met een bron die beweert meer informatie te hebben over dit gerucht:
"Johnny Depp? for Lex Luthor. Bit of missunderstanding. What is really happening is Depps NAME, i.e. he hasn't been contacted (in case you haven't noticed, he's going to be busy for quite a while...) is being circled for the role of Superman's father, Jor-el."
The bron vermeldt ook nog een aantal sappige details over de Batman: Intimidation film. De Batcave schijnt "MASSIVE" te zijn
en Morgan Freeman zal waarschijnlijk de rol van Gordon vertolken. En hieronder een geweldige omschrijving
van de Batsuit:
"The costume-jet black as well. It is not spandex, under armor, or even rubber. It is a new material, that can stretch and bend easy, but won't be overly skin tight. Padding in the ribs and chest area as well as the arms and upper legs will be added, with large black boots for the feet."
Lees het bovenstaande wel een met een korreltje zout.
