Richard Donner's Superman II cut?!!!:
Lots of great news today, guys! I'll be back this weekend with the next update. Lets kick-off with some good ol' Superman news. Richard Donner, director of the first Superman movie and the Lethal Weapon series, talks about a DVD release of his version of Superman II, which was originally directed by Richard Lester. Donner explains;
"You know they're also re-releasing Superman II with my version. We're re-doing it and all the stuff that Richard Lester took out of mine, we're putting back in.
...All my stuff was laying in the vaults and there was a young editor named Michael Thor who came to me one day and said "Listen if you go on the internet everybody wants to see your version of II" and I said "I don't think it exists, there were cans," we were doing one and two at the same time. And we had to stop doing two to deliver one on time, so we did everything with Brando anyway, everything we remembered, so he called and said the studio gave me the go. Now they've reprinted all the material, they've shipped all the negatives from England and he's recutting my picture and again, he's asked me would I help. I can't because it's so long ago and the little bit of footage that I looked at, I would never shoot like that now in a million years, I mean it was a different way, a different style, different interpretation."
Oh boy, that's awesome! The Richard Donner Superman II cut will most likely be released right before Superman Returns.

Dark Crystal 2 update!:
Interesting news that I've forgot to mention yesterday, Genndy Tartakovsky, creator of Samurai Jack, Dexter's Laboratory and Star Wars: Clone Wars, will bring Power of the Dark Crystal to the big screen! The sequel to the 1982 puppet film is set hundreds of years after the first film and follows a mysterious girl made of fire who steals a shard of the crystal in hopes of reigniting the dying sun.

Bump and Grind:
The Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez horror flick Grind (previously called Grind House) is heading into production in the coming weeks. Rodriguez's part, Planet Terror, will be a zombie movie, while Tarantino's section, Death Proof, will be a slasher film. Cool part of the film is going to be the fake trailers that the directors are creating as an intermission between the two films. One of the trailers will be called Cowgirls in Sweden!

Narnia returns:
Great news for the Chronicles of Narnia fans (me included), the sequel called The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, is now in pre-prodction. Director Andrew Adamson and most of the principal cast and creative team are back. Here's what Adamson had to say:
"Making The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe couldn't have been a more rewarding experience, not just in terms of creative achievement and audience response, but also because of the family we formed during production. Prince Caspian not only gives me an opportunity to challenge my imagination with another classic story, it also allows me to work alongside the many talented artists who contributed to the first film, and of course to collaborate again with 'The Pevensies,' Georgie, Skandar, Anna, and William."
