Casting News:
Snel nog even een casting update, moet nu gaan slapen want het was een drukke maar geweldige dag. Kom net
terug van de Nederlandse première van Fighting Fish met de aanwezigheid van de cast! Mijn recensie
is binnenkort op de site te lezen...:
 Halle Berry will star in Tulia, playing a lawyer investigating an infamous Texas drug bust.
The Office star Martin Freeman, Zooey Deschanel and Mos Def will top the cast of feature version of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Garth Jennings and Nick Goldsmith will direct the film.
Paul Bettany, Jennifer Connelly and Evan Rachel Wood are in talks to star in American Pastoral. Phillip Noyce, who helmed The Quiet American and Rabbit-Proof Fence, will direct.
Luke Wilson is set to star in Mike Judge's comedy 3001, playing a man who goes to sleep only to wake up 1,000 years in the future.

Newsflash:
Helaas geen schokkende headlines vandaag maar ik vond gelukkig wel een paar kleine interessante ontwikkelingen in Tinseltown, checkout movieXplosion's Newsflash:
Film legende Paul Newman zal de stem verzorgen van een race auto in de nieuwe Pixar film Cars. John Lasseter zal de computeranimatie regisseren.
Barbara Streisand is het script aan het lezen van Meet the Fockers, het vervolg op Meet the Parents. Het is niet duidelijk of ze inderdaad de rol gaat vertolken van Ben Stiller's moeder. Source: Yahoo
Matt Damon en Ben Affleck gaan weer samenwerken na het succes van Good Will Hunting. Het script dat ze aan het schrijven zijn is in de stijl van Good Will Hunting met als onderwerp "relaties". Source: MSNbc

Star Wars Episode III footage!:
Bijna alle filmsites heeft het nieuws geplaatst over de beelden van het laatste Kenobi-Skywalker gevecht in Star Wars Episode III. Uiteraard kon movieXplosion.com niet uitblijven om dit te vermelden. Een getuige heeft de beelden gezien tijdens een meeting van de marketing afdeling:
"I'm talking about Obi-Wan and Anakin opening a barrel of light sabre whoop ass. The look of fury on Obi-Wan's face as he tears into Anakin will send shivers down your spine. They are leaping into the air, falling down a huge green screen incline, and engaging in quite possibly the greatest sword choreography I've ever scene. Can you imagine how incredible the fight will look with the CGI FX and soaring accompaniment?"
De scène was ook online geplaatst maar de site ligt inmiddels helemaal plat door de grote belangstelling, waarschijnlijk zal Lucasfilms maatregelen nemen om het materiaal asap van de site te laten verwijderen. Wel een ideale manier om een early buzz te creëren, ik kan in ieder niet wachten om de film te zien!

Updated 27/01/04: Ewan McGregor vertelde ook nog iets meer over the final fight toen hij een interview had met Scotland Today:"I tell you what's very difficult about it is that it's difficult to...know really. I hope, I think what it does nicely is it ties up all the ends, all the loose ends and it meets Episode 4 with Alec Guinness and the crew very nicely I think. I don't think there's anything left unsolved and there's a huge but enormous fight at the end of it. Enormous, I've never been more exhausted in my life. We spent weeks and weeks shooting this fight!"

US Box Office Jan 23-25:
Ashton Kutcher bewijst dat hij ook andere rollen kan spelen. The Butterfly Effect is zijn
eerste serieuze film waarin hij geen komische rol vertolkt, de thriller vertelt het verhaal van een jongeman
die een manier heeft gevonden om naar het verleden te reizen om bepaalde gebeurtenissen een andere wending
te geven...met alle grote gevolgen. The Butterfly Effect kwam met maar liefst $17 miljoen
op de eerste plaats binnen! Here's the rest of the top ten:

The Golden Globe Winners 2004!:
Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King was de grote winnaar afgelopen weekend tijdens de Golden Globe
awards. De film won een award voor Best Picture, Director, Original Song en Original Score! The Golden Globe is
een graadmeter voor The Academy Awards, hopelijk wint The Return of the King ook nog een paar Oscars in

Batmobile description!!!:
Woohooo, een Superhero Hype bron
heeft een blik kunnen werpen op de Batmobile in Chris Nolan's Batman film!
"2 F1 style tires at front, and four huge monstertruck style nobbly tires at rear. Batmobile not long, but wide, also has jet at rear. 2 seater side byside, it was mobile and driving. The one I saw had no shell."
De site vermeldt verder dat het batmankostuum korte oren heeft (waarschijnlijk zoals in Frank Miller's comics) en dat de Batmobile inderdaad gereed is om op de set gefilmd te worden.
