Cameron's next project:
Regisseur James Cameron is eindelijk weer van plan om een echte film te maken! De laatste jaren heeft hij alleen
maar andere projecten gedaan waaronder een aantal documentaires. AICN vermeldt het
volgende:
"Tonight I attended a screening of T2 at the Arclight in Hollywood followed by a Q&A with James Cameron. Don't know if anyone was aware of this prior, but he made VERY CLEAR that his next project is a big budget Sci-Fi film. He mentioned seeing Return of the King and realizing it was "time to play" with special effects again. He seemed very excited by current capabilities. He also mentioned that this sci-fi epic would not only be HD, but 3D as well. All I can say is... the wait is finally over... the master is back. James Cameron big budget sci-fi 3D adventure, and next year no less! Hell fuckin' yeah."
De website heeft een vermoeden dat Cameron een live-action versie gaat maken van de Manga Battle Angel Alita, ik hoop dat ze gelijk hebben
want dat zou fantastisch zijn!

Sam Raimi talks Spider-man 2!:
Regisseur Sam Raimi sprak met The Associated Press over Spider-man 2:
"I really turned the film inward on the characters, and it seems like that's what the audience responded to in the first film," Raimi said. "So we focused on developing the characters to the next level, and the actors have taken the performances, all of them, up a notch."

Newsflash:
Ik heb weer een aantal interessante headlines gevonden, check them out in today's Newsflash:
 Terry Gilliam gaf een update over zijn nieuwste fantasy film Brothers Grimm met in de hoofdrol Matt Damon en Heath Ledger: "Well we've finished shooting! Now we're editing it. I actually saw the first assembly today for the first time, and, well, it's going to be busy for the next few months," says Gilliam. "There's hundreds of special effects shots. Part of it is editing in the dark, because you're trying to imagine extraordinary things."
Ben benieuwd hoe de film gaat worden, Gilliam wilt overigens een nieuwe poging wagen om zijn Don Quichotte project weer op te starten. Enkele jaren geleden moest hij met de productie stoppen wegens financiële problemen en een zieke hoofdrolspeler.

Dustin Hoffman heeft een deal gesloten met Universal om Ben Stillers vader te spelen in Meet the Fockers, het vervolg op de hit Meet the Parents. Regisseur Jay Roach zal in Maart beginnen met filmen. Robert de Niro en Teri Polo zijn ook van de partij en misschien een leuk idee om Clint Eastwoord te vragen om grandpa te spelen...?

Sad news, the Wachoski Bros (Matrix Trilogy) hebben het King Conan project verlaten. De broertjes zouden als producer optreden met John Milius als writer-director. Bronnen beweren het volgende: "The Wachowskis - who had reportedly clashed with Milius over the tone and direction of the film - left King Conan of their own volition."

The Punisher.com heeft een transcript geplaatst van een interview met Thomas Jane en zijn personal trainer Mike Mello over de comic film The Punisher: "We got him shooting on the move, thinking tactically. Sean Astin directing Fantastic Four?:
Wow, Samwise The Hobbit toont interesse om de comic based film Fantastic Four te regisseren!?
Acteur Sean Astin vertelde het volgende aan SET Magazine:
According to Astin (who was coaxed to reveal which mystery project he was in the running for), his ideal candidates for Reed Richards and Johnny Storm are George Clooney and Orlando Bloom, respectively. "I got a meeting scheduled but I can't talk about it yet," Astin told the reporter.
Astin has directed episodes of Jeremiah and angel.

Stephen Sommers talks Van Helsing:
Mummy regisseur Stephen Sommers sprak met Redlands Daily
over zijn nieuwste horrorfilm Van Helsing!:
"I went into it saying it's not a movie about monsters," Sommers reveals. "It's about people with very bad problems. So we got really great actors. Forget about the special effects for a second; just wait'll you see Richard Roxburgh's performance as Dracula or Shuler Hensley's as Frankenstein. They're just knockout great performances."
Well, OK. But will there be "Mummy'-level visual effects?
"In the old movies, Dracula turned into a bat," Sommers says, trying to sound reassuring. "He should turn into a flying creature, but who's afraid of a bat? I'm not, I grew up with one in the belfry. But then I thought, if he had a 15-foot wingspan, that would be something. I just kind of went from there. I love going over these old movies, finding all the things we know about them and coming up with new stuff."

US Box Office Jan 16-18:
Ben Stiller en Jennifer Aniston veroverden de Box Office afgelopen weekend met de komedie Along Came Polly.
De film bracht maar liefst $27.6 miljoen op! Andere nieuwkomer Torque haalde net niet de
tweede plaats want die moest het uitvechten met Tim Burton's Big Fish.

Editor's note:
Ik heb de afgelopen weken voor de verandering weer eens een keer problemen gehad met mijn internet verbinding
en was helaas niet in staat om pagina's te uploaden. Lezers die bij Casema een abonnement hebben met dezelfde
problemen, mogen mij mailen, 'cause they SUCK!!! Helaas werkt
de verbinding nog steeds niet optimaal maar ik heb een alternatieve route gevonden om de site te benaderen.

Ronny Yu talks Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash!:
Hong Kong regisseur Ronny Yu sprak met About.com
over een mogelijk vervolg op Freddy vs. Jason. Er wordt druk gespeculeerd wie wordt toegevoegd
aan de "versus" titel, Evil Dead's Ash of Halloween's Mike Myers zijn mogelijke kandidaten:
"..I'm all excited to read the script. Hopefully they have a script real soon and hopefully I'll love the script and then we have another good, fun experience."
And what does he think of the "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash idea"? "Yeah, that is cool. Especially in all those Sam Raimi movies. I think it would be good if we can add another one, like another icon, like maybe Michael Myers or somebody."
You want four fighters? "Yeah, the more the merrier."

Superman update:
Interessant Superman nieuws vandaag, het schijnt dat regisseur McG plaats verwisselt met
Wolfgang Petersen. Een bron van Movie Hole
vertelt het volgende:
"According to the scooper, "Superman" might have a new Director - and it's quite an interesting choice. Wolfgang Peterson. Peterson, you may remember, was the man who was originally going to pit Clark against Bruce in "Batman vs. Superman", before the idea was scrapped in favour of "Troy". It would make sense for Peterson to do "Superman" - there's apparently some interest there on his behalf, and he still reportedly wants to get the Superhero Clash going some time or another.
As it stands, it's still another rumour, until the trades announce otherwise."
