Van Helsing: Set in the late 19th century, Sommers' screenplay finds Bram Stoker's fabled monster hunter, Van Helsing (Jackman), summoned to a distant Eastern European land on a quest to vanquish evil. Now, for the first time since the 1940s, Universal's greatest classic monsters -- Dracula, the Frankenstein monster and The Wolf Man -- return to the screen as complex, multi-dimensional beings re-imagined by writer-director Sommers. The Van Helsing character first appeared onscreen in the seminal 1931 Universal classic Dracula and has since appeared in hundreds of motion picture and theatrical adaptations of Stoker's novel.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Riddick has spent the last five years on the move among the forgotten worlds on the outskirts of the galaxy, eluding mercenaries bent on collecting the price on his head. Now, the fugitive finds himself on planet Helion, home to a progressive multicultural society, which has been invaded by the Lord Marshal (Colm Feore), a zealot who targets humans for subjugation with his army of warriors known as Necromongers. Exiled to a subterranean prison where extremes of temperature range from arctic nights to volcanic days, Riddick encounters Kyra (Alexa Davalos), the lone survivor from an earlier chapter in his life. His efforts to free himself and Kyra lead him to the Necromonger command ship, where he is pitted against the Lord Marshal in an apocalyptic battle with possibly the fate of all beings-both living and dead-hanging in the balance.

een aardig gesprekje gevoerd met Ice Cube die meer vertelde over zijn rol in de xXx sequel:
Will XXX2 be a chance to do even more stunts?
Oh, yeah. With XXX, we're trying to triple the stunts that were in the first one. I love it. That's a movie you're making on a higher level when you can add stunts and action and choreograph the whole thing. That's what turns me on the most about everything that I do or attempt to do is the creative process in it. That's what gets my juices flowing. It's cool to watch this movie, but it's just as cool to make it and see all the people coming together to create these amazing things. I always want to be a part of it. Action movies at that level, when the director has every toy in the world to play with, I can't wait to work on that level.
What was your conversation with Vin Diesel like?
I haven't had it yet.
Do you think you'd have a lot in common?
Not really. I kind of do my own thing. His path is definitely not going to be mine. Even with the XXX movie, we're not looking to be a different Vin. I told the director, Lee [Tamahori], that I wanted to have the movie tailor-made for me and not trying to be something that I'm not.
Hmm, xXx 2 without Vin Diesel...? Good luck, Ice cube.

Walking Tall poster:

heeft de nieuwe poster van Walking Tall. "The story revolves around Chris Vaughn (The Rock),
a retired soldier who returns to his hometown to make a new life for himself, only to discover his wealthy high school rival, Jay Hamilton (Neal McDonough), has closed the once-prosperous lumber mill and turned the town's resources towards his own criminal gains. The place Chris grew up is now overrun with crime, drugs, and violence.
Enlisting the help of his old pal Ray Templeton (Johnny Knoxville), Chris gets elected sheriff and vows to shut down Hamilton's operations. His actions endanger his family and threaten his own life, but Chris refuses to back down until his hometown once again feels like home."

Tim Burton's comedy/drama Big Fish verdiende net een paar dollar meer dan The Return of the King

Bruce Willis talks Die Hard 4!:
Lijkt erop dat Bruce Willis nog steeds interesse toont in een nieuwe Die Hard film, enige
probleem is om een goed script te vinden:
"After the first Die Hard, I said I wasn't going to do any more Die Hards, and I did two more. So I don't make predictions anymore. If they get the script right and it seems like an interesting story..."
He adds that "It's hard today to do. The whole Die Hard trilogy so far has been based on some element of terrorism, and it's difficult in today's world to do stories that fictionally portray terrorism."
There ya go, yippie-kaa-yee motha...!

Casting News:
Veel interessant casting nieuws vandaag, hieronder volgt een overzicht:
 Johnny Depp gaat naast John Malkovich and Samantha Morton spelen in The Libertine. De film speelt zich af in de 17e eeuw en is gebaseerd op een waar gebeurd verhaal van The Earl of Rochester John Wilmot.
Brian de Palma's gaat James Ellroy's misdaad roman The Black Dahlia verfilmen. De cast bestaat o.a. uit Mark Wahlberg en Josh Hartnett.
Adam Shankman (Bringing Down the House) zal de actie komedie The Pacifier regisseren met in de hoofdrol Vin Diesel.
Ben Foster en Johnny Messner spelen naast Bruce Willis in Hostage. Willis vertolt de rol van een voormalig LAPD hostage negotiator. Florent Siri die de franse film Nid de guêpes maakte, zal Hostage regisseren.
Joe Morton (T2) speelt een commandant in de actiefilm Stealth. De cast bestaat verder uit Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel, Jamie Fox en Rob Cohen (xXx, Fast and the Furious) regisseert.
