Fincher and Russell update:
Wow, het gaat lekker deze week, veel filmnieuws. Zoals gewoonlijk sla ik de vrijdag over en ben ik dit weekend weer
terug met de volgende update!
Seven en Fight Club regisseur Davind Fincher gaat de graphic novel Torso verfilmen. Het verhaal
vertelt een nieuw avontuur van de beroemde FBI agent Eliot Ness en vindt plaats nadat hij Al Capone heeft opgepakt.
The Mask regisseur Chuck Russell maakt een remake van de horror classic uit '78, Piranha. Joe "Gremlins" Dante was
verantwoordelijk voor de vlees-etende visjes uit de originele versie.

Jerry Bruckheimer talks National Treasure 2:
Uber-producer Jerry Bruckheimer sprak over een vervolg op de surprise hit National Treasure, waarin Nicolas Cage de hoofdrol speelde.
"For National Treasure, we came up with a wonderful idea, a true incident in American history that's a wonderful jumping off point for National Treasure 2 and Nick Cage is excited about doing the movie. He likes the idea of what we're pursuing, so hopefully, we'll get that done towards the end of the year."
De eerste flick was een lekkere avonturenfilm en ben benieuwd naar het vervolg!

Brandon Routh talks Superman Returns!:
En natuurlijk deze week ook de Superman Returns newsbit! Acteur Brandon Routh sprak over zijn rol als de superheld en zijn relatie met Lois Lane:
"He's come back after being away for several years. He's lost. He's learned things about the world that have changed, he's not found what he went after, he just feels alone and he's not sure if he wants to use his power even. It's at that point that he really tries to connect with the world, with humanity, with his humanity. I mean, he's an alien, but he's human. Or he does his best to be. He lives here. He wants to be part of that world, I think.
I think the love story is very relatable to everyone. You lose love, you get it back. The journey you take to get the person you love back. Giving up things. Finding the positive in the negative. All these are human things and I trust that's evident in the film, in my portrayal. The one worry he has is this love of Lois, because it's something that he doesn't understand, and it's hard for him, because that's a very strong emotion, and it's the only person he's ever truly loved in that way."

Clerks 2 teaser online!:
De teaser trailer van Clerks 2 is online verschenen! Kevin Smith is terug met een vervolg op de film uit 1994 dat zijn grote doorbraak werd. De film volgt
wederom het leven van winkelverkopers Dante en Randal. De cast bestaat uit Jeff Anderson, Brian O'Halloran, Rosario Dawson, Jason Mewes en Kevin Smith. Klik hier voor de trailer.

Tyrese Gibson talks Luke Cage:
Acteur Tyrese Gibson sprak over de superheldenfilm Luke Cage! Het is nog niet zeker of hij de rol krijgt maar Tyrese bereidt zich wel voor met een keiharde training.
Luke Cage was de eerste zwarte superheld die zijn eigen comic kreeg. Tyrese vertelt het volgende:
"I'm probably going to be benching about 415 pounds once I get into that mode. They're just saying that 'Luke Cage was a real big and muscular guy, and we want to make sure that you appear to be that.'
They have me in mind, along with a few other people. Do I have a better chance at getting it? Probably. The idea of Cage being the first-ever black comic-book hero was a lot, as far as a statement. Those are big shoes to fill, man, and I've got to do it and do it right."
John Singleton (Four Brothers) wordt waarschijnlijk de regisseur van de film en Marvel Chairman Avi Arad wil van Luke Cage een harde R-rated actiefilm maken.
"This will have an urban soundtrack, it will be great," vertelt Arad, "The whole idea behind Luke Cage is that he's anything but a hero. He's a mercenary for hire and men like that find out it's a good business by accident. And then find out what's really inside him."

Will Toale gaat de hoofdrol spelen in WB's nieuwe TV serie Aquaman. De serie wordt geproduceerd door Smallville bedenkers Miles Millar en Alfred Gough. Aquaman leeft in de oceaan en bestrijdt samen met andere diepzee-wezens de misdaad.

Narnia Mania!:
Dankzij het grote succes van de geweldige The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Regster, hebben regisseur Andrew Adamson en de vier kinderen (Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, William Moseley en Anna Popplewell) getekend voor het vervolg; The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
Dit boek vertelt het verhaal van de burgeroorlog in Narnia. Prince Caspian wordt geforceerd om hulp te vragen van de helden Peter, Susan, Edmund en Lucy. De groep moet het opnemen tegen Caspian's oom, King Miraz, om de vrede te herstellen.

Hugh Jackman talks Wolverine 3.0!:
X-Men 3 is in full production met Brett Ratner achter de camera. Hugh Jackman is gelukkig weer terug als Wolverine en de acteur sprak met Entertainment Weekly over de film. Here's a clip!
What's different about Wolverine 3.0?
We tried to incorporate a little more of some of the artwork of the comics into Wolverine's fighting style. I was very adamant at the beginning in 1 and 2 -- I used to watch tapes of Mike Tyson -- and I was like, I don't want it to be pretty. I don't want it to be martial arts. I don't want him to be anything other than, like, a street fighter. He doesn't fight for the sake of fighting. If he can take someone's head off in the first punch, he'll take it off. We worked on some styles of incorporating some of the artwork in the comics, which is a little stylized, more to use what his strength is -- which is that he's small. Me, I'm actually a tall man, so that took a little training and I worked hard on that.
There's a lot of things we really tried to get in 1 and 2 which -- I don't mean to be blunt -- were just real expensive and we couldn't get them in until 1 and 2 were so successful. So there's some sequences there that the fans -- if you go to that midnight screening on the first night, they'll just be going ballistic. There's some specific choreography, famous fighting moves, that we use in this movie that we haven't been able to do before.
What's up with a possible Wolverine spin-off?
I'm into it. We're actually working on a script. X-Men is an ensemble movie, even if some characters are in it more than others. It's about the X-Men. I love playing the part. I think it's the best part going around. I may be biased, but I think there's so much still to be mined, still to be learned from that character. I think it will stand up to a feature-length movie. And we've had some really amazing interests from some great filmmakers and great writers also really intrigued by the character.
