James Cameron talks Battle Angel...again:
The director talked again about his 3-D film Battle Angel (read previous headline) and revealed some nice story details:
"26th century, the story takes place 300 years after a societal collapse caused by a major war, but in that society, it's a technological dark age following a pinnacle of achievement far, far beyond where we are right now. So in a sense it's post-apocalyptic, but it's post-apocalyptic from a very high level. So now, you've got cyborg technology as just a way of life. People are augmented a lot as workers and so on, so being a cyborg is not unusual. The main character is a cyborg. She has an organic human brain, and she looks like she's about fourteen years old. She has a completely artificial body and she's lost her memory- she's found in this wreckage and she's reconstituted by this guy who is a cyber-surgeon who becomes her kind of surrogate father. It's a father-daughter relationship story that just has the most insane action that you can imagine. It will be PG-13 -- lots of blood, but it's all blue."

Spacey talks Luthor!!!:
Kevin Spacey talked to IESB about his role as Lex Luthor in the upcoming Superman Returns!
Here's a clip:
Q: Are you looking at any of the previous Superman films for inspiration for "Returns"?
KS: You have to look at the work the Chris Reeve did on his films and of course the great work that Gene Hackman also did.
Q: Singer has said that this new film will resemble Superman 1 and 2, can you see that?
KS: I think that it will resemble those films but at the same time it won't. From what I have been told fans of the first films will recognize plenty but this film will also stand alone. Superman has been around way before the films of the 70's and 80's so the world has an understanding of he is. You also have a great TV show that is showing Clark's younger years and that is shaping up who Superman will eventually become
Q: What do you think of Brandon Routh?
KS: He, like Singer, is a huge fan of this franchise. He has so much respect for the character and also so much passion. I could not see anyone else right now as Superman. Fans won't be disappointed.

James Cameron talks Battle Angel:
James Cameron talks about his new 3-D project Battle Angel. The movie is based on the Japanese manga, here's
what Cameron had to say:
"It will be a combination of the 1st and 3rd books. It will be live action combined with CG, and hopefully will be ready for release in 2007. A known actor will be cast to play Alita, but it is not a star driven movie. And most of Alita will be CG."
Cameron also added that he'd waited to do Battle Angel in digital 3-D because of Digital Cinema; "By the early summer of 2007 most theater houses will be equipped with D-cinema, or Digital Cinema."

And Lex Luthor is...:
Kate Bosworth (Blue Crush) has been cast as Lois Lane and it's also official that Kevin Spacey will play Lex Luthor in Superman Returns!
The film reunites Spacey with Usual Suspects' director Bryan Singer. Here's what the director had to say
about Superman:
"It's a little like 'X-Men,' where the mutants existed when the movie began. It's not an origin story; I didn't want to remake what Richard Donner did so well in the original, and didn't want to tread on the great work they're doing on 'Smallville.' He's already part of the culture; he has left the planet. This is the story of his return."

Gary Oldman talks Batman Begins:
One of my favorite actors, Gary Oldman, talked about his role as Gordon in the upcoming Batman Begins.
His character is a younger version of the police commissioner:
"He had to start somewhere, you know? I'm not gray yet. Maybe the next one. I was surprised, because I went online, and there's an enormous amount of stuff written [about Gordon]. I was amazed at how detailed the bio is on Gordon. So I kind of went there, and then you're pretty much working [from] the script."
