Cruise talks Iron Man:
Tom Cruise told Empire Online that he's still interested in the superhero movie Iron Man. Iron Man's alter ego is billionaire industrialist Tony Star, who must wear an armoured breastplate to protect his injured heart. In between running a company and dealing with alcoholism, he fights bad guys with the aid of an incredibly advanced suit of armour and a disturbingly large array of weaponry. Here's what Tom Cruise had to say:
The Man with the Iron Mask
"He's a fascinating character, but we've got to figure out how it's going to work. And everyone is doing a Marvel character these days. How do we make that new, create something fresh where it doesn't feel like, 'Oh, here comes another superhero story'?"

Jackman talks Van Helsing:
Jackmans Landing posted an interview with Hugh "Wolverine" Jackman who talked about his latest vampire hunter flick Van Helsing:
"Van Helsing is basically a mercenary for the Catholic church and he's hired by them to kill posessed souls." Jackman says. "It's kind of like 20th century black ops, so any possessed soul that is out there, Van Helsing's job is to go out there and exterminate them. He's also on a private quest because he's a very conflicted character. It's fair to say he's disgruntled, he's not really happy in his job and his job is kind of an admission of failure."
"The movie is set in Transylvannia and it's quite fantastical. There is Dracula, vampires, werewolves; it's kind of like the dogs of the moors from 100 years ago. It's a lot of fun and a little bit spooky. Van Helsing is not just a cool James Bond where he shoots the villain, and has a bit of a snigger and a laugh and moves onto the next one, Van Helsing is psychologically very interesting."
Can't wait to see this movie, Stephen Sommers (The Mummy) directed the film.

"In the year 1193 B.C., Paris, a prince of Troy stole Helen, Queen of Sparta, away from her husband, Menelaus, setting the kingdoms of Mycenaean Greece at war with Troy. The Greeks began a bloody siege at Troy that lasted over ten years. Achilles was the greatest hero among the Greeks, while Hector, the eldest son of Priam, King of Troy, embodied the hopes of the people of his city." The movie also stars Eric Bana (The Hulk), Orlando Bloom (Lord of the Rings) and is directed by Wolfgang Petersen (Das Boot). Click on the pic for a larger version.

Gilliam talks Brothers Grimm:
A Coming Soon source spotted an interview with director Terry Gilliam who talked about his latest $90 million fantasy flick The Brothers Grimm:
"I just finished shooting 'The Brothers Grimm,' starring Matt Damon, Jonathan Pryce and Monica Bellucci. We shot in Prague in six different languages: English, French, Russian, Czech, Spanish, Italian. It's the most expensive film I've never done. It concerns the brothers Grimm, who first pretend to save people in their village, then they find themselves in the middle of a real curse. It will be full of special effects: walking trees, flying wolves and a flock of crows doing incredible things.... Monica Bellucci is the Queen of the Mirrors, thanks to her the film becomes an adult fairy-tale..."
