"I cannot carry it for you, Mr. Frodo, but I can carry you!"
This movie doesn't need an introduction, everyone knows this is the last chapter of one of the most successful
trilogies of all time. Director Peter Jackson pulled it off, he managed to bring J.R.R. Tolkien's books
to the big screen. The journey has reached its end...
The story in a nutshell:
Frodo has entered Mount Doom where he must destroy the Ring that holds the evil forces. Sam is there to
back him up but Frodo is getting brainwashed by the mind games of their guide Gollum. Another fight is
taking place on the other side of the mountain, a fight bigger than Helms Deep. The battle between
men and Orks has begun!
Return of the King is one giant climax, the fans have been waiting for this moment for three years and it
was worth the wait. The movie's pace is tremendous, switching masterfully from one story line to another
without losing sight of the heart of the journey. Peter Jackson knows how to stay focus on character developments
between the breathtaking fight sequences. All the actors deliver great performances with Sean Astin as
Sam, Billy Boyd as Pippin and the amazing Ian McKellen as Gandalf being one of the most impressive. The
epic battles are bigger than The Two Towers but that is as far as I go with comparing the movie to the other
chapters. The three movies can't exist individually, they are one and must be seen as a whole. The camera
angels are unbelievable bringing the viewer right in the middle of the battling Orks, humans and scary Nazgul.
Peter Jackson brought Tolkien's story to the big screen with respect and a huge amount of love. Peter Jackson
has written history with his trilogy.
