Movie: Kill Bill Vol. 2
Director: Quentin Tarantino
Actors: Uma Thurman, David Carradine, Daryl Hannah, Michael Madsen, Michael Parks, Gordon Liu

"You're not a bad person, you're a terrific person, you're my favorite person, you just can be a real cunt sometimes."

The wait is over, Kill Bill Volume 2 will reveal if Black Mamba a.k.a. The Bride will succeed in completing her mission; to eliminate her boss Bill. Kill Bill was shot as one giant movie but the screentime would surpass 4 hours so halfway through the shooting process they've decided to split the movie in two. The first part was a homage to the Japanese samurai flicks and Anime. The second chapter is a tribute to Hong Kong movies, spaghetti westerns and several Hollywood classics.

The story in a nutshell:
The bride (Uma Thurman), whose name will be revealed at the end of the movie, is working down her death list. Three more names to go; Budd (Michael Madsen), Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah) and the boss Bill (David Carradine). What she doesn't know is that her ex-collegues are aware of her "tour de force". They will try to outsmart the female avenger in order to kill her once more.

Kill Bill Volume 2 feels different than the first flick. The tone is very different and the story is more dialogue driven and less action. Is that a bad thing? Nope, instead of a repetition of the hardcore samurai action from the first chapter, it's now time for explaining the diversity of characters, brilliantly written by Tarantino.
Uma Thurman is once again the star of the movie, her performance, in one word "breathtaking". She delivers the action sequences as if she was a professional martial artist and combines it with heartrending drama. Michael Madsen is fantastic as the bouncer, cold-blooded killer and toilet cleaner!
One of the big surprises is David Carradine. The actor became a legend after the successful TV series Kung Fu but slowly moved to the video circuit several years later. Carradine plays his role with delightful (deadly) charm and humor. The well written character is fantastically being portrayed by this underestimated actor. Kill Bill will absolutely give his career a nice boost, just like Pulp Fiction did for John Travolta.
Michael Parks is also back in the sequel, not as Sheriff McGraw but as a Mexican owner of a whorehouse, check out his hilarious accent! The legendary martial artist Gordon Liu, known for his chop socky film of the 70's also returns as Black Mamba's mentor Pai Mei.
Interesting note; the movie is being supported by the western-like score of Tarantino's buddy, Robert Rodriguez.
Quentin Tarantino surprises with Kill Bill Vol. 2 by bringing the story to another level and changing the tone. We get to know a lot more about the characters. Tarantino proofs he's a master in writing bizarre dialogues. I love the scene where Bill explains why he admires Superman and Clark Kent or the scene where Elle Driver tells about the bite of the Black Mamba snake in full detail.
Kill Bill Vol. 2 is an amazing, fantastic ride through the history of western and eastern classics, brought to you by a talented director who delivers a classic himself with his movie Kill Bill.
