movieXplosion.com's Film Preview Top Ten 2006:

Hi guys, after looking back at the movies of 2005, it's now time to see what the new year will bring us and I've got a feeling it's going to rock! Well, here's my top ten of the movies I really, really, really want to see!!!

11. Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny / Nacho Libre
Starting at number 11... cause I couldn't fit these suckers in the top ten. I'm a huge Jack Black fan and I gotta see Black and Gass in an already legendary rock flick. And Jack Black playing a Mexican wrestler in a film directed by Napoleon Dynamite's Jared Hess should be fun as well.

10. Mission: Impossible III
I just love Ving Rhames, Laurence Fishburne and Philip Seymour Hoffman who's playing the villain. That's enough for me to see the flick... oh and Tom Cruise also stars!

9. V for Vendetta
Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman star in the comic based film that is directed by Matrix's first assistant director James McTeigue. The Wachowski Bros wrote the script.

8. Grind House
Tarantino and Rodriguez making their old school horror flicks and also creating fake trailers that they'll show in between the two films, how cool is that?!

7. 300
Zack Snyder, director of Dawn of the Dead (2004), adapts Frank Miller's epic comic 300.

6. Sin City 2
Frank Miller wrote a new story for the sequel to one of the best films of 2005. Can't wait to see Marv back in action again.

5. Lady in the Water
Can M. Night Shyamalan top his previous masterpieces? I think he can, especially with Paul Giamatti and Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays a water nymph.

4. Southland Tales
Finally, a new film by Donnie Darko's Richard Kelly. The Rock and Seann William Scott star in this new sci-fi-action-drama-comedy-sort-of movie.

3. Miami Vice
Michael Mann making a big screen version of the TV series he created. I love the artwork on the official website, the style is very slick, just like a Miami Vice flick should be.

2. X-Men 3
The teaser trailer just blew me away. I'm very confident that Brett Ratner will deliver a great new X-Men film.

1. Superman Returns
Need I say more, I just want to see this movie. I simply can't wait so I'm flying over to the States to see it, cause the film will premiere in Holland a few months after the American release. Bryan Singer, Brandon Routh and Kevin Spacey, don't let me down, guys!
