Movie: The Brothers Grimm
Director: Terry Gilliam
Actors: Matt Damon, Heath Ledger, Jonathan Pryce, Peter Stormare, Monica Bellucci

Terry Gilliam has recovered from his last disastrous Don Quichote production. He started this film a few years ago with Johnny Depp in the leading role. Unfortunately, the whole production was shut down due to many setbacks. The Brothers Grimm marks Gilliam's return to the fantasy genre with his trademark visual style. The impressive cast includes Matt Damon, Heath Ledger, Peter Stormare, Jonathan Pryce and Monica Belucci.

The story in a nutshell:
The Brothers Grimm isn't a biopic but tells a fictional story, set in 19th century Germany, about two brothers and con men Jake (Heath Ledger) and Will (Matt Damon) Grimm, earning their money by hunting down phoney witches and ghosts. The brothers travel from town to town to do their scheme. The French invaders, led by general Delatombe (Jonathan Pryce), orders the brothers to investigate a mysterious disappearing of several young maidens. The trail leads to a dark enchanted forest where the con men discover that their imaginary ghouls and ghosts are very real.

The beloved fairytales of the Brothers Grimm are masterfully woven into this film. Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel & Gretel and Cinderella are some of the many characters who pop up during the fumbling actions of the brothers. Matt Damon and Heath Ledger are playing totally different roles than you've would expect. Matt Damon is the cocky womanizer Will, whilst Heath plays the quiet, timid Jake. They have a perfect timing and interaction in their performance, which make them, being brothers, very believable. Peter Stormare does a memorable job as the Italian Cavaldi. An eccentric torture-expert hired by the French general Delatombe. Stormare delivers a wonderful over-the-top performance with one of the funniest Italian accents I've ever heard.
Terry Gilliam uses The Brothers Grimm film to get rid of his frustrations, which he'd bottled up during his failed Don Quichote production and just goes wild on this one.
Gilliam delivers an enchanting fantasy film thanks to a funny, original script and Gilliams stunning visual style.
