Newsflash:
Hi guys, here's the last update of the week, I'll be back with more this weekend!;
 Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol, the third installment of The Da Vinci Code franchise, will be adapted for the big screen. There's no information available if Tom Hanks will return as Robert Langdon. Source: Variety
The fifth Fast and Furious flick is put on a fast track. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are back, Justin Lin will direct the new film, with the working title Fast Five. Source: Variety
James Cameron's Avatar is the biggest domestic film ever, with $601,141,551! Previous winner was Titanic with $600,788,188. The worldwide Avatar gross so far is $2,048,130,844.

Patrick Tatopoulos directs I, Frankenstein!:
Special effects designer Patrick Tatopoulos, who made his directorial debut with Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, will direct I, Frankenstein. The flick is based on the upcoming graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux and centers on the original monster of Victor Frankenstein who stands between the human race and an uprising of supernatural creatures.
"It is a privilege to be given the chance to direct this highly visual piece," Tatopoulos said, "Kevin Grevioux has created something truly special with 'I, Frankenstein' and I couldn't dream of a better team than my friends at Lakeshore to make this project happen."

Joe Johnston talks Captain America:
Director Joe Johnston (The Wolfman) talked to Film Journal about his upcoming superhero project, The First Avenger: Captain America. The film will be set in 1942, 1943 during World War II, check this out;
"We're in prep. Rick Heinrichs is production-designing and we're set up down in Manhattan Beach California. It's the part of the process that I love the most. We have eight or ten really talented artists, and we all just sit around all day and draw pictures and say, 'Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we could do this?' It's that phase of the production where money doesn't matter: 'Let's put all the greatest stuff up on the wall and then later see what we can afford.'
The stuff in the '60s and '70s comic books we're sort of avoiding. We're going back to the '40s, and then forward to what they're doing with Captain America now."
