The Jackie Chan Message
May 9, 2010

I think I'm the biggest Jackie Chan fan here in Holland. Police Story introduced me to Hong Kong action films. This movie made me realize that there was more, a lot more, than the Hollywood flicks. And I was amazed that the HK actors did the stunts themselves! Jackie Chan's movies, especially his earlier work, Young Master, Police Story series and Drunken Master 2, are still one of my favorites, and also one of the best HK action flicks to date.
Being a big fan, I decided to get in touch with him one way or the other. I got real close when I played an extra in Who Am I?, which was shot in Rotterdam. I didn't get the chance to talk to him, but he did notice me and said hi, so that was a pretty amazing day for me.

But opportunity arose once again more recent. I noticed that Jackie Chan got a verified Twitter account, and decided to send him an '@reply' with a link to my Drunken Master painting.
Well, the man himself really liked it and wrote me a personal note with a request to send the painting to his Hong Kong office! His message just blew me away! It really meant a lot to me, and the response I received from other fans was truly overwhelming!

My next step, I'm planning to pitch one of my martial arts screenplays to the Master himself! Stay tuned!
