Remake update!:
Hi guys, hier weer de laatste update van de week, I'll be back with more news this weekend!;
 Peter Baynham (Borat co-writer) is benaderd om het script te schrijven van Arthur, een remake van Dudley Moore's komedie uit 1981. Why? Source: Variety
It's getting worse, Warner Bros. maakt plannen voor een remake van Wolfgang Petersen's fantasy classic The NeverEnding Story. Again, why?! Source: The Hollywood Reporter
En... producer Neal H. Moritz zit in de laatste onderhandelingsfase om een remake te produceren van Paul Verhoeven's hardcore sci-fi classic Total Recall!!! Weet je nog, Schwarzenegger's love scene met Sharon Stone, zijn gevechten samen met Rachel Ticotin op Mars, en een ontmoeting met freaky mutants, gecreëerd door make-up effects master Rob Bottin. Mutant Chronicles!:
Heb zojuist de kick-ass poster van Mutant Chronicles ontvangen! De cast van de sci-fi flick bestaat uit Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman, John Malkovich en Devon Aoki. Here's the official synopsis;
"In the year 2707, war rages between earth's four giant corporations as they battle over the planet's dwindling resources. In an era marked by warfare and social regression, the earth is on the verge of ruin, destruction is everywhere; battles explode on every ravaged continent.
Amidst heavy combat, an errant shell shatters an ancient buried seal releasing a horrific mutant army from its eternal prison deep within the earth. As the mutant scourge threatens human extinction, a single squad of soldiers descends into the earth to fulfill the ages-old prophesy of the MUTANT CHRONICLES and save mankind."

Newsflash:
Laten we beginnen met goed nieuws, CW heeft aangekondigd dat de TV serie Smallville doorgaat met een negende seizoen! In Nederland is de serie niet meer op de buis te zien, maar gelukkig wel te koop. Laten we hopen dat dit dan eindelijk het seizoen wordt waarin Kent zijn Superman suit aantrekt!
Na de remakes, verfilming van TV series en videogames, is het nu tijd om een film van een bordspel te maken. Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) is benaderd om een live-action murder mystery te regisseren van het populaire Hasbro spel Clue. Source: Variety
Eric Brevig (Journey to the Center of the Earth) regisseert de Yogi Bear 3-D big screen flick! De film combineert waarschijnlijk live action en CG. In de classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon werden de avonturen van Yogi Bear en sidekick Boo Boo gevolgd. Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Newsflash:
John Cusack en Rob Corddry vertolken de hoofdrol in de komedie Hot Tub Time Machine. De film vertelt het verhaal van een groep gefrustreerde mannen die hun jeugd in de jaren 80 herleeft via een hot tub tijdmachine! Sounds ridiculous and fun at the same time, maar dit zou wel eens een ouderwetse Cusack tienerkomedie kunnen worden! Source: The Hollywood Reporter
Naomi Watts vergezelt Josh Brolin en Anthony Hopkins in Woody Allen's untitled film. Story details zijn onbekend maar ik ben zeer benieuwd na Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona wat dit trio ons te bieden heeft! Source: Variety
Fox Searchlight heeft de rechten gekocht van het boek Breathers: A Zombie's Lament, dat gaat over een zombie die problemen heeft met zijn nieuwe lifestyle en hulp zoekt bij Undead Anonymous! A Billion Bucks for Batman!!!:
The Dark Knight heeft wereldwijd meer dan $1 miljard verdiend, en is nu de vierde film die zich bij deze billion dollar club mag voegen. De exacte cijfers; $1.001.082.160, dat is $533 miljoen in Amerika en $567 internationaal.
Titanic staat nog op de eerste plaats, gevolgd door The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest en The Dark Knight op de vierde plaats.
One thing's for sure, Batman heeft nu genoeg geld om weer de misdaad te bestrijden in een derde film!

Linda Hamilton heeft bevestigd dat zij is benaderd voor McG's upcoming Terminator Salvation! Check this out;
"We are talking... I haven't read it yet. I don't know what direction they will go in. My contribution would be voiceover. I would probably be very happy to loan my voice depending on what the material is. Wait and see. They're already writing it. We've been negotiating it."
Jammer dat Linda Hamilton alleen een voice over verzorgt en verder niet in actie is te zien.
