Newsflash:
Hi guys, here's the last update of the slow newsweek, I'll be back, hopefully with more news, this weekend!;
Tobey Maguire and Neal Moritz will produce the adaptation of the comic book Afterburn. The story is set in a postapocalyptic Earth, after the Hemisphere was destroyed by a massive solar flare, and centers on a group of treasure hunters. Source: The Hollywood Reporter
A bunch of very cool Iron Man pics hit the web! The superhero flick is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Robert Downey Jr., Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jeff Bridges. Click here for the pics.
Writer Michael Dougherty will team with Robert Zemeckis on Calling All Robots. Using the same technique as Zemeckis' Beowulf, the animated sci-fi adventure tells a story that's a throwback to old Godzilla movies. Source: Variety
James Cromwell and Ellen Burstyn have been cast in Oliver Stone's George W. Bush biopic W. Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) is playing the title character, and Elizabeth Banks will play the first lady. Source: Variety

Cohen's Mummy update:
Director Rob Cohen posted another update for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor on his blog. The director is in the midst of post-production, got three new kids and is catching waves at the same time! Here's a clip;
"There's more good news on "The Mummy" front: I have shown the film to the exec's at Universal and they are through-the-roof ecstatic. We screened a few weeks ago for all the relevant department heads (home video, distribution, foreign, p.r., marketing, etc.) and the reaction was unanimous. It's running around 1 hr. 53 minutes and, daily as we hone, it's taking its final shape. The studio has been very collaborative and supportive. You know they love it when they ask you if you need any more money to enhance the visual effects budget!!! Are there more shots that I want to do but didn't have the money to do?!!! Of course, the answer is yes; there is never enough to entertain the audience in any film."
Well, I'm getting curious, hope this one will turn into a fun adventure flick. Click on the above link for more!
