Newsflash:
Hi guys, as usual, I'm skipping friday but will be back with more news this weekend, enjoy;
David Fincher will direct Black Hole, with a script written by Roger Avary and Neil Gaiman! The film is based on Charles Burns' graphic novel about a strange plague that has descended upon teenagers, transmitted by sexual contact. Pretty sick stuff, but you know me, looking forward to check it out! Source: Variety
After a few attempts, it looks like it finally is going to happen, guys, Akira will be turned into not one but two live-action flicks! Ruairi Robinson will make his feature debut, Leonardo DiCaprio will produce! The sci-fi epic will take place in New Manhattan and not in Neo Tokyo like the anime. Source: Variety
A new action-packed trailer for 10,000 B.C. is now online! Roland Emmerich directs the epic, check out cool effects right here!

James Cameron on Avatar!!!:
James Cameron send an update to AICN on his groundbreaking 3-D CGI/live-action epic Avatar!; "There's a spirit on this film, an esprit de corps amongst the virtual team, that comes from knowing we're doing something absolutely groundbreaking. It's why people still have good morale after working on this thing for two years or more. And we still have more than a year and a half to go. I don't know if this will be a good film, great film, awful film, but I can say with absolute certainty that you will see stuff you've never imagined, and that the process of making this film will generate a lot of interest within the technical side of the biz. When I edit with some of our early stuff, "shot" using our virtual camera system over a year and half ago, it already looks laughably crude. Our process has evolved so much, just within the making of this one movie. Of course the final standard of photoreal animation will be consistent throughout the film, because it all gets rendered in a big frenzy next year."
Still don't know exactly what it's all about, but I'm glad Cameron is back to deliver a sci-fi flick again! Click on the above link for more!

Jason Statham talks Death Race:
Transporter's Jason Statham talked a bit about the upcoming Death Race, which Statham believes is an homage to Roger Corman 1975 cult classic. The new version is directed by AVP's Paul Anderson and revolves around a prisoner (Statham) who is forced by his warden to compete in a brutal, deadly car race.
"It's fantastic fun", Statham said, "It's more of a homage to the Corman film. It's not really a direct remake. I suppose it's very different. There's a great story to it, and I think it'll do really well. Director Paul Anderson was a dream to work with, and I'm really excited about seeing it. The cars in this are really killer. They've got ejector seats, and they spray out oil and napalm, and they've got rocket launchers. The story is it's a race to the death, and all the inmates in the prison build these cars."
Now, I've seen the campy original, liked it, and am kinda curious how they will approach the remake.
