Newsflash:
Hi guys, just got back from two concerts in a row (Alter Bridge rocks!), a bit tired, but here's a quick newsflash to bring you up to speed. I'll be back with a new update this weekend!;
Matt Reeves is in talks with Paramount to direct a Cloverfield sequel! Now, I finally got to see it, and I really loved it but I'm having doubts that a sequel will be as fresh and original as the first flick.
Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland) will direct the biopic Bobby Fischer Goes to War.
Gerard Butler (300) will star opposite Katherine Heigl in the comedy The Ugly Truth.
Platinum Dunes will develop a new Freddy Krueger film (or is it a remake?).
Director Mark Romanek left The Wolfman due to, you've guessed it, creative differences. Benicio Del Toro is still attached to star, they'll look for a new director.

Lexi Alexander on Punisher!:
Not only a director, but a very hot looking director, Lexi Alexander updated her Punisher: War Zone blog. She posted Punisher's artist Tim Bradstreet first reaction to what he had seen of the film so far;
"I had an opportunity to see a ton of stills from the film and it looks sensational. The Jigsaw makeup is top. LOVED seeing Doug Hutchinson look like such a hard assed nut, and of course, Ray Stevenson looks AWESOME. They lit a lot of it like I light and [they] did a great job."

Guillermo del Toro gets ready for The Hobbit?!!!:
This is already the biggest news of the week, Guillermo del Toro is in talks to direct back-to-back installments of The Hobbit! According to the source, del Toro has a deep love for the source material and has an understanding and command of geek culture as well as its respect.
Unfortunately, Peter Jackson isn't able to direct because of his busy upcoming slate, but he will be an executive producer with approval over creative elements of the films. Del Toro and Jackson will oversee the films' writing. The films will be shot simultaneously, each part carries a budget of 150 million bucks!
Guillermo del Toro previously directed Blade II, Hellboy and the critics' favorite Pan's Labyrinth!
