Newsflash:
Hi guys, a quick newsflash today to end the week. I'll be back with a new update this weekend!;
Max Von Sydow and Pete Postlethwaite join James Purefoy in Solomon Kane. Set to be the first in a trilogy, the epic tale centers on a 16th century soldier who's battling a sinister power threatening the kingdom. The film is based on the Robert E. Howard novels, the man who also created Conan the Barbarian. Michael J. Bassett (yep, don't know him either) will direct.
Scarlett Johansson will play in the biopic Mary Queen of Scots, which revolves around Scotland's 1542 queen. Phillip Noyce (Clear and Present Danger) will direct!
Amy Ryan and Greg Kinnear join Matt Damon in the untitled Iraq war thriller that is based on the book Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone. The zone refers to a walled area where U.S. troops stay during the Iraq occupation. The Bourne Ultimatum's Paul Greengrass will direct.

Hitman's Olga Kurylenko has been cast as 007's leading lady in the upcoming Bond flick! Daniel Craig is back as Bond, Marc Forster (Finding Neverland) directs. Olga Kurylenko also starred opposite Elijah Wood in Paris, je t'aime. Though I hated Hitman, I thought Olga delivered a solid performance. Click on the lovely actress for more info.

Golden Globes canceled!!!:
Wow, due to the writer's strike the Golden Globes is being turned from a big ceremony into an hour-long press conference! That's pretty amazing. Here's the official press release;
"We are all very disappointed that our traditional awards ceremony will not take place this year and that millions of viewers worldwide will be deprived of seeing many of their favorite stars celebrating 2007's outstanding achievements in motion pictures and television," said Jorge Camara, President of The Hollywood Foreign Press Association. "We take some comfort, however, in knowing that this year's Golden Globe Award recipients will be announced on the date originally scheduled."

James Middleton talks Terminator Salvation:
Producer James Middleton revealed story details of Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, which will be directed by McG (Charlie's Angels);
"It's set after the events of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, where we see the nuclear exchange at the end of the movie, and we show what the world is like after this event, and we show how people try to deal in a post-apocalyptic world. And we introduce a new character, who becomes very important to the resistance and to John Connor, a new hero. It's really about the birth of a new hero.
I would look at him as a character that is introduced and that will grow in the second and third movies of the trilogy."
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins won't star Schwarzenegger, Christian Bale has been cast but no details are available if he will play John Conner or the new hero that will be introduced in the new chapter of the saga.

Is Brandon Routh in or out?!:
Disturbing news regarding the Superman sequel hit the web recently. Sources mentioned that Bryan Singer will not return to direct the new film and Brandon Routh will be replaced by a younger Superman. It's all linked to the upcoming Justice League movie, which revolves around America's finest superheroes, including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. Sources hint that the actor who portrays JLA's Superman will also star in the stand-alone version. Now, I really love Bryan Singer's Superman Returns, despite its flaws, and thought that Brandon Routh was pretty amazing as the Man of Steel. Fortunately the news hasn't been confirmed and now AICN also debunked the rumors. They got in touch with their WB spies, check this out;
"Right now, Routh is still Warner's choice to return if they make another stand-alone SUPERMAN film, and that's based on conversations as recently as a few weeks ago.
Don't believe this one, kids. Routh's still the Man of Steel."
There ya go! I'll keep you posted on further developments, guys!
