Movie: Kung Fu Panda
Director: Mark Osborne and John Stevenson
Actors: Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu

Po (Jack Black) is a big fan of kung fu, he'd like to be a fighter himself one day, but, unfortunately, the family's noodle shop depends on him. Until Po is being chosen to be trained by Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) and his Furious Five; Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Crane (David Cross), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu) and Monkey (Jackie Chan). According to the prophecy, Po is the chosen one who will fight Shifu's rival Tai Lung (Ian McShane). But Shifu and the Furious Five are having doubts about Po's ability to master the art of kung fu. Panda needs to prove his willingness to learn … but it is hard to choose between kung fu and the other love of his life, and that's food!

Directors John Stevenson and Mark Osborne delivered a very interesting martial arts flick. Kung Fu Panda isn't a spoof but a real homage to the martial genre, which smartly incorporates all the familiar ingredients of the genre into the story. The film's tone and style is just like the 70s kung fu flicks, including the Chinese philosophy, and of course the brilliantly choreographed fights. Jack Black totally rocks as the voice of our black-and-white main character. The directors turned him loose and let the magic happen, which makes Po contemporary and also gives him Jack Black's trademark attitude. The other star is Dustin Hoffman's wonderful voice performance for the wise little Master who got the dirty job to train the big and clumsy Po. The pacing of the story is perfect, with well developed pixel-characters and without pushing the moral message down your throat. Kung Fu Panda is a wonderful, hilarious martial arts epic, which brings me, a big fan of the genre, down to my knees; I bow to Po's awesomeness!
