Movie: Jumper
Director: Doug Liman
Actors: Hayden Christensen, Jamie Bell, Rachel Bilson, Diane Lane, Samuel L. Jackson

David Rice (Hayden Christensen) is a Jumper, he's able to teleport himself to any place in the world. David uses his ability to escape his abusing father first, and then rob a few banks for some traveling money. The young man discovers that he's not alone, there are more Jumpers around. But there also is a secret organization that plans to kill every single one of them.

Anakin Skywalker himself, Hayden Christensen, does a fine job portraying the role of the innocent, lonely man who tries to live a life with these powers. Jamie Bell offers a nice twist as Griffin, David's guide in the Jumper-universe. Skywalker's Jedimaster Mace Windu, a.k.a. Samuel L. Jackson, plays the role of villain Roland who's an expert in tracking down the Jumpers.
Jumper offers a very original concept and director Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) pushes the jumping-stuff to the max. He drives the action to the limit with a battle between Jumpers, which takes place all over the world within a few seconds. And then, their powers reach the next level, resulting in a few spectacular scenes. Unfortunately, the rest of the story doesn't quite work. They've tried to add emotional depth to the main character but not enough to make it interesting. It sometimes results in scenes with some pretty bad dialogs. His relationship with his mysterious mom (Diane Lane) feels off-balance with the rest of the film and remains unclear. Same goes for his relationship with his love-interest Millie (Rachel Bilson).
Though I'm not jumping for joy after seeing the flick, I must admit that Doug Liman delivers a visually exciting and fast-paced action thriller.

Great action... but I'm missing something
