Jackie Chan talks The Forbidden Kingdom:
Disturbing news on Jackie Chan's latest martial arts epic, The Forbidden Kingdom, which also stars Jet Li. The actor isn't a fan of his successful American Rush Hour flicks. He felt that the style of action was too Americanized and didn't understand the American humor. He also showed little enthusiasm for his latest Hollywood project The Forbidden Kingdom. Here's what he'd said;
"The movie I just shot with Jet Li, The Forbidden Kingdom, actually isn't that great. The Forbidden Kingdom is a movie made for Americans. Chinese viewers may not like it. If I say it's a good movie now, then many people will be filled with overly high expectations and be disappointed when they see the movie."
I'll bet the studio won't be happy with his statement. I'm probably one of the biggest Jackie Chan fan's around, I love his flicks, including the Rush Hour films, but I understand Jackie's opinion. His Hong Kong flicks are better than the American counterparts, but they're also less accesible for a Western audience. So his Rush Hour films offer something from both worlds.

Funny Games trailer!:
Nope, I'm not gonna post the recent rumors that they're planning to remake The Karate Kid, 'cause that's blasphemy! Don't sweep the kid's leg again! But I do have a very interesting trailer to start the weekend. Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Michael Pitt, Brady Corbet and Devon Gearhart star in Michael Haneke's new thriller Funny Games. The story revolves around a family who gets an unexpected visit from two deeply disturbed young men. Their idyllic holiday turns nightmarish as they are subjected to unimaginable terrors and struggle to stay alive. Click here to download the trailer!

Justin Lin talks Old Boy remake:
Director Justing Lin was attached to direct a remake of the Korean action-thriller Old Boy. A project I was not looking forward to, 'cause the original version is simply brilliant and impossible to redo. Fortunately, Justin Lin decided to step back, he explains why;
"That was a situation where the studio had purchased a property and I love the original movie. Everybody has their opinions on remakes and if the goal was to basically make a Xerox copy, then I wouldn't want to make that. It's a tough movie to remake. It's a big challenge. In the last year, if anything, I've been protecting it a little bit, because if it's not the right situation, then I'm probably not the right guy for it. I think it's one of those things that came and as a young filmmaker, I just want to try things whether I succeed or fail. That one, because it's at a big studio, and I think for all the pieces to fall right and to be able to make the film correctly, I don't know if I'm even the right guy to do that. These are things that I've learned, especially with other films, sometimes you go and make it just to make it and have fun with it. That was one where I was very protective and if one element wasn't correct-that's where I'm standing. If it's not totally there, it's not worth it. I personally haven't been able to find the right fit nor the right rhythm, so we'll see. I honestly will probably move on from that."
Good for you, Justin! Now, the director's new film, Finishing the Game, is coming soon and the trailer is up! You gotta check this out, click here to find out what it's all about.
