Newsflash:
Hi guys, hier weer de laatste update van de week, but don't worry, I'll be back with a new one this weekend!;
 Jason Isaacs en Melissa George vergezellen John Cusack in de actiethriller Stopping Power. De film vertelt het verhaal van een man die een verwoede poging doet om zijn ontvoerde dochtertje te redden. Fellow Dutchman Jan de Bont (Speed) gaat de film regisseren, hopelijk wordt het zijn comeback!
Eva Mendes is toegevoegd aan de cast van Frank Miller's comic verfilming van Will Eisner's The Spirit. Andere rollen worden vertolkt door Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson en Gabriel Macht .
Justin Timberlake speelt tegenover Mike Myers in de komedie The Love Guru. Myers speelt een Amerikaan die opgevoed is door gurus in India. Het is een tijd geleden dat Myers voor de camera heeft gestaan, and I'm glad he's back!
Ah, daar is ze weer, de mooie Carla Gugino is te zien in de Robert De Niro en Al Pacino vehicle Righteous Kill. De veteranen spelen New York cops die een serial killer proberen te pakken, Jon Avnet regisseert.
Ice Cube vertolkt de hoofdrol in de sportfilm Comeback. De film is gebaseerd op een waar gebeurd verhaal, Cube speelt een voormalig high school football ster die zijn nichtje onder zijn vleugels neemt. Het meisje wordt later de eerste vrouwelijke quarterback in football history. Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst gaat regisseren! Rock on, dude!

Logan's up and running again!:
De remake van Logan's Run heeft eindelijk een regisseur gevonden; Joseph Kosinski! De regisseur heeft een aantal award winning commercials (Halo 3 en Gears of War) op zijn naam staan, de sci-fi flick wordt zijn eerste bioscoopfilm. De originele versie uit 1976 is gebaseerd op het boek van William F. Nolan en George Clayton Johnson, Michael York speelde de hoofdrol in de film. Het verhaal gaat over een maatschappij waarin mensen niet ouder mogen worden dan een bepaalde leeftijd.
Het project, opgezet door producer Joel Silver, staat al jaren op de planning en zou in de eerste instantie door Bryan Singer regisseerd worden. De remake wordt een low-tech science fiction film, meer in de stijl van het boek dan de film.

The Punisher speaks!:
Thomas Jane is out and Ray Stevenson is in as the new Frank Castle in the upcoming The Punisher: Welcome Back Frank. De acteur sprak met Superhero Hype over zijn rol;
"Although I am still very much in the embrionic stages of developing and discovering FRANK CASTLE's character; what I can say about my approach so far is that I don't wish for anyone to walk out of the theatre wanting to 'be' FRANK CASTLE - Let me explain, I would be mortified if, for any reason, some kid at high school wanted to reach out and right the wrongs of bullying or rejection or isolation by deciding to "tool up" and take out the bad guys! It is my full intention to have FRANK in such a dark place and do such violence on those beyond redemption that you should feel glad that there is someone who lives in the dark so we may live in the light.
My training program is the most comprehensive I have ever undertaken and hopefully we will bring all his skills to bear - and then some!"
Interesting stuff, Hooligans' Lexi Alexander zal de nieuwe Punisher flick gaan regisseren.

U.S. Box Office August 17-19:
'Revenge of the Nerds' at the American Box Office, guys, de komedie Superbad versloeg de grote sterren en kwam met 31 miljoen bucks binnen op de eerste plaats! De Body Snatcher's remake The Invasion, met Nicole Kidman en Daniel '007' Craig, kwam niet verder dan de vijfde plaats.

Scarlett Johansson vertolkt de rol van de gevaarlijke verleidster Silk N. Floss in Will Eisner's The Spirit. Frank Miller regisseert, Gabriel Macht speelt superheld The Spirit en Samuel L. Exclusive Trade poster!:
Ik heb weer een exclusieve poster, guys, en deze keer is die van Trade! De film is geregisseerd door een nieuw Duits talent met de naam Marco Kreuzpaintner, Roland Emmerich is de producer, de cast bestaat uit Kevin Kline, Cesar Ramos, Alicja Bachleda, Paulina Gaitan en Marco Perez. Here's the official synopsis;
"When 13-year-old Adriana is kidnapped by sex traffickers in Mexico City, her 17-year-old brother sets off on a desperate mission to save her. Trapped by an underground network of international thugs who earn millions exploiting their human cargo, Adriana's only friend throughout her ordeal is Veronica, a young Polish woman captured by the same criminal gang."
