Newsflash:
A bit of a slow news week, guys, but I did find some interesting movie news for today's update, check it out;
Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen and Renée Zellweger star in the Western Appaloosa. Not much revealed on the story, but always love to see Ed Harris in action, who co-wrote the script and also will direct the cowboy flick! Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen previously starred in the masterpiece History of Violence.
I've mentioned that I love Ed Harris, well, I really, really love Carla Gugino (Sin City)! The lovely actress will join the cast of the superhero flick Watchmen. Other cast members include Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Malin Akerman. Zack Snyder (300) will direct the film!
Anton Yelchin (Alpha Dog) will play Pavel Chekov, the navigator of the USS Enterprise. That's right, Trekkies, this is really goin' to happen! Zachary Quinto has been cast as Mr. Spock, no word on who will play Captain Kirk in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek flick, I'll keep ya posted.
This is interesting, remember the British ski jumper Eddie the Eagle? Well, a biopic about the Winter Olympics jumper who always came in last, is in production and Steve Coogan (Around the World in 80 Days) will play the lead! "His story is a very British story, and he is a very British kind of hero," Coogan said, "When I read the story, I found it funny but, more surprisingly, quite moving. Quirky, dysfunctional, slightly nerdy, but his balls must be made of titanium."

Newsflash:
Stephen Lang and Michelle Rodriguez join Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver in the sci-fi flick Avatar. The flick uses the latest technology in digital filmmaking, and will be a combination of live action and animation. At the helm of the epic project, the one and only James Cameron! I'm glad he's back! The film revolves around a Marine Corps colonel who travels to the faraway planet Pandora to take charge of its troops. The flick will start filming in October, release date is somewhere in 2009.
Comic artist-turned-director, Frank Miller (Sin City) has found his Spirit! Gabriel Macht (The Good Shepherd) will star in Will Eisner's The Spirit.
Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn will star in the romantic comedy Management. Aniston will play a traveling saleswoman. She meets an underachieving assistant motel manager (Zahn), who starts to pursue her all over the U.S. I must admit, I love Aniston and I think Steve Zahn is hilarious, so this could be a fun flick, right?
