Thomas Jane is Punisher no more!:
Thomas Jane wrote a personal note to AICN, revealing that he drops out of The Punisher sequel;
"I regretfully and painfully had to pull out of P2. I can't tell you how completely broken up I am about it. Punisher fans are already fighting an uphill battle as it is. And I've always felt a responsibility to fight that fight for them and with them so that Frank Castle gets the treatment he deserves.
What I won't do is spend months of my life sweating over a movie that I just don't believe in. I've always loved the Marvel guys, and wish them well. Meanwhile, I'll continue to search for a film that one day might stand with all those films that the fans have asked me to watch."
Though the first film wasn't perfect, I did like it and thought Jane was pretty impressive as The Punisher.

Spielberg and Jackson team for Tin Tin?!!!:
Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are teaming to direct and produce three back-to-back features of Tintin. The 3-D film, which is based on the popular Belgian comic, uses performance capture technology. Jackson's WETA Digital produced a 20-minute test reel bringing the characters to life. They plan to stay true to original designs of the characters. "We're making them look photorealistic; the fibers of their clothing," Jackson said, "The pores of their skin and each individual hair. They look exactly like real people --but real Hergé people!"
"Hergé's characters have been reborn as living beings," Spielberg said, "Expressing emotion and a soul which goes far beyond anything we've seen to date with computer animated characters. We want Tintin's adventures to have the reality of a live-action film, and yet Peter and I felt that shooting them in a traditional live-action format would simply not honor the distinctive look of the characters and world that Hergé created."
The two filmmakers will each direct at least one of the movies.

Tim Allen a martial arts star?:
Tim Allen has been added to the cast of David Mamet's martial arts drama Redbelt. Chiwetel Ejiofor co-stars as a Jiu-jitsu master who is drawn into the movie business and ultimate fighting matches. Allen plays a troubled action star who meets the master.
Rest of the cast also includes Emily Mortimer, Alice Braga and Joe Mantegna. David Mamet, writer of Glengarry Glen Ross, Hoffa and Wag the Dog, directing a martial arts flick? Well, it makes me pretty curious. Looking forward to see the flick!

Newsflash:
Hi guys, sorry for the delayed update! I've found some small but very cool tidbits for today's newsflash. Check it out;
Maria Bello (A History of Violence) will replace Rachel Weisz in The Mummy 3. I've always been a fan of Maria (love her dark eyes), so I think it's an excellent casting decision. Bello joins Brendan Fraser, Luke Ford, Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh. Rob Cohen (Fast and the Furious) will direct. Looks like the flick is going to be huge and a fun ride after all, don't ya think?
