ARCHIVES WEEK 04 2007

25/01/07
Newsflash:
Hi guys, here's the last newsflash of the week, I'll be back with a new update this weekend:
Maria Bello and Ray Liotta will star in the thriller Downloading Nancy. Bello plays an unhappy wife who meets a man (Liotta) over the internet and hires him to kill her. Source: Production Weekly
Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher) joins Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep and Robert Redford in Lions for Lambs. Robert Redford directs the war drama about a platoon in Afghanistan. Source: Variety
Pierce Brosnan talks about the sequel to The Thomas Crown Affair; "Thomas Crown 2, for all intents and purposes, will happen. The script came in two days ago and it's good. We've announced it, we've said to the world that we're going to do it -- come hell or high water, we're going to do it. The bar is high on this one, the expectation is high on it." Sounds like fun, too bad Rene Russo will not be back for the sequel. Source: Entertainment Weekly

Michael Chiklis talks Fantastic Four 2:
Thing himself, Michael Chiklis, talked about the upcoming Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer! Check this out:
"What's fun about this time around, we didn't have to lay down the same amount of origin tale track. We could just get right into it. In this kind of situation they have to take certain liberties with the original, but I still adheres to the point where any hardcore FOUR fan is going to be satisfied and Silver Surfer fans are going to be psyched out of their minds. Weta is doing the effects and they're an impressive house, just what I've seen so far of their effects is spectacular. Doug Jones did some phenomenal physical work to set the look for all of that. He was much more of a champion that I was about being in that costume. He's used to being in them more, and I am now, but it isn't something I want to make a career out of."

Newsflash:
Mira Nair (Vanity Fair) will direct Johnny Depp in Shantaram. The film about a heroin addict who escapes from a prison and moves to the slums of Bombay, is based on Gregory David Roberts' novel.
Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington will star in the thriller Lakeview Terrace. The film revolves around an interracial couple that moves into a new home but their next-door neighbor is a racist LAPD officer. James Lassiter and Will Smith will produce.
Al Pacino is set to play the painter Salvador Dali in Dali & I: The Surreal Story. Andrew Niccol who previously directed Pacino in S1m0ne, will direct the biopic.
Martin Scorsese is asking around about a sequel to The Departed, according to Mark Wahlberg in an interview with Aceshowbiz; "We may do another one, because it's based on a Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs, and there is a trilogy... So we may do a sequel with a new cast, and a prequel and bring back the rest of the guys... They're talking to Robert De Niro and a couple of other people."
