Newsflash:
Hi guys, hier weer de laatste newsflash van de week, de volgende update is in het weekend:
 Maria Bello en Ray Liotta vertolken de hoofdrollen in de thriller Downloading Nancy. Bello speelt een depressieve vrouw die een man (Liotta) ontmoet via internet en hem vraagt om haar te vermoorden. Source: Production Weekly
Derek Luke (Antwone Fisher) is te zien naast Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep en Robert Redford in Lions for Lambs. Robert Redford regisseert de oorlogsfilm over de troepen in Afghanistan. Source: Variety
Pierce Brosnan sprak over het vervolg op The Thomas Crown Affair; "Thomas Crown 2, for all intents and purposes, will happen. The script came in two days ago and it's good. We've announced it, we've said to the world that we're going to do it -- come hell or high water, we're going to do it. The bar is high on this one, the expectation is high on it." Michael Chiklis talks Fantastic Four 2:
Thing himself, Michael Chiklis, sprak over Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer! Check this out:
"What's fun about this time around, we didn't have to lay down the same amount of origin tale track. We could just get right into it. In this kind of situation they have to take certain liberties with the original, but I still adheres to the point where any hardcore FOUR fan is going to be satisfied and Silver Surfer fans are going to be psyched out of their minds. Weta is doing the effects and they're an impressive house, just what I've seen so far of their effects is spectacular. Doug Jones did some phenomenal physical work to set the look for all of that. He was much more of a champion that I was about being in that costume. He's used to being in them more, and I am now, but it isn't something I want to make a career out of."

U.S. Box Office Jan 19-21:
Het werd een foto finish maar uiteindelijk verdiende de dansfilm Stomp the Yard net een paar dollars meer, Ben Stiller's Night at the Museum moest het met een tweede plaats doen. Here's the rest of the Top Ten;

Newsflash:
Mira Nair (Vanity Fair) gaat Shantaram, met in de hoofdrol Johnny Depp, regisseren. The film vertelt het verhaal van een drugsverslaafde die ontsnapt uit een gevangenis en vlucht naar Bombay. De film is gebaseerd op het gelijknamige boek van Gregory David Roberts.
Samuel L. Jackson en Kerry Washington spelen de hoofdrol in de thriller Lakeview Terrace. Een echtpaar krijgt een nieuwe woning maar de buurman blijkt een racistische LAPD agent te zijn. James Lassiter en Will Smith produceren de thriller.
Al Pacino is gecast voor de rol van de beroemde kunstenaar (en een van mijn inspiratiebronnen) Salvador Dali in Dali & I: The Surreal Story. Andrew Niccol, die eerder met Pacino S1m0ne maakte, gaat de biopic regisseren.
Martin Scorsese is aan het peilen of the cast van The Departed interesse heeft voor een sequel. Mark Wahlberg in een interview met Aceshowbiz; "We may do another one, because it's based on a Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs, and there is a trilogy... So we may do a sequel with a new cast, and a prequel and bring back the rest of the guys... They're talking to Robert De Niro and a couple of other people."
