Bee Movie tells the story of the bee Barry B. Benson who decides to search for a job outside the bee hive, falls in love with the beautiful Vanessa Bloome, who's a human being, and also sues the honey manufacturers. That's right, guys, a pretty bizarre story, written by the one and only Jerry Seinfeld. The comedian also acts as producer and even voices the main character. The directors are Steve Hicker (Prince of Egypt) and Simon J. Smith. Renée Zelweger is Vanessa, Matthew Broderick is Barry's buddy Adam and Chris Rock is Mooseblood.
Fans of the TV series simply need to see this film, 'cause it's got Seinfeld written all over it. And trying not to be dramatic, there are moments that I really miss my favorite TV show. So I was pretty surprised to read the news about Seinfeld's first movie project after the TV series. My curiosity grew bigger when I found out that this project was a computer animated feature. I was also a bit scared that it could turn into a sweet little kids movie with a moral message. Fortunately, Seinfeld called the shots, 'cause Bee Movie is just too crazy to describe. The film's biggest surprise are the twists and turns. It goes into a pretty hilarious direction and offers lots of other excellent jokes and cameos. Bee Movie is a funtastic animated feature covered by a sweet honey layer of Seinfeld's typical humor.
